In my former Harlem loft, an African textile, bought at a market in Charlotte, NC, conceals an electric panel and hangs next to a framed print of a topographical map of Manhattan, from the Map Collection of The New York Public Library (a gift from then Library President Paul LeClerc.) The birds nest chandelier, sourced at Green Depot, is made of recycled laminate wood veneer.
