          although she laughs, it is not derisive - - although perhaps it may feel so. in this moment, however - - a rare one, with space and time to walk with her sister through this spring-time garden - - she is of no mind to thread sharp things through the soft. “i am afraid court must not be terribly pleasant for you, then,” she says, giving guinevak’s arm a squeeze. “some of them like to make themselves feel higher by talking down to anyone they may. but you...” she shakes her head, proudly lifts her chin, putting on a little bit of a show all for her sister’s benefit, one that becomes something more real as she stops, extracts her arm to rest both hands upon her sister’s shoulders. “you are the queen’s own sister, and none should dare condescend to you. only tell me who is doing so, and i shall set all to rights.” 

         it wasn’t the first time the wizard had encountered this favored knight. lancelot had never been of much concern, and yet now-- ‘ apple blossoms. ‘ the words slipped out, so struck was he by the echo of the past that rang out. an echo of lancelot’s past, and a scent that merlin was all too familiar with. ‘ when were you in avalon? ‘ 

          “I know that look.” There’s a hint of a smile, one not well hidden. “Does something trouble you?”

He remembers. And while some lifetimes are vaguer in his memories than others he’s often wondered why that is. Perhaps like most of the strange experiences that have always followed him it’s because of his mother’s Corbenic bloodline. Of course it could just as easily be due to his father’s old ties to Avalon.

It’s a burdensome thing. Camelot was neither a golden age, haven or coveted prize in his memory so when he met those who like him were reborn he always regarded them with a certain wariness. 

sdjkhf i’m so reluctant to write sw muses but i actually used to write jyn erso and absolutely would again! i could also see myself writing leia or padme, though idk if i ever actually will. (i also had Thoughts about writing rey’s mother but....they didn’t go anywhere.) marvel’s easily sharon carter, and dc....probably lois lane? (but my marvel/dc knowledge is MINISCULE so if i ever did write in those fandoms they’d likely be heavily canon divergent)
