"This photo was taken in Amsterdam in 1966/67. It was during a protest organized by the PROVOS. As the name implies, this was a group of provocateurs who were responsible for organizing many protests and deliberately antagonizing the authorities into action. It was a turbulent period in the Netherlands and Cor Jaring took many photos of all the "happenings". and protests. I had a short stint working for the "White Paper", the official Provo newspaper, and met Cor Jaring there ...This particular photo was called "Insektensekte" (Insectsect). In 2015, there was an exhibit about the PROVO movement in the Amsterdam Historical Archive Museum."
