French classic canette aux pommes is made with juicy duck breasts and caramelized apples for a mix of sweet and savory flavors.
Ingredients: 2 duck breasts. 2 apples, cored and sliced. 2 tablespoons butter. Salt and pepper to taste. 2 tablespoons honey. 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar.
Instructions: Cut the duck breasts' skin into slashes and season them with salt and pepper. In a pan over medium-low heat, put the duck breasts skin-side down. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. For medium-rare, flip and cook for another two to three minutes, or until done as you like. Take it out of the pan and let it rest. Put butter and sliced apples in the same pan. For about 4 to 5 minutes, or until the apples are soft. Honey and apple cider vinegar should be added to the pan with the apples. Add everything together, stir, and cook for two more minutes. Cut the duck breasts into thin slices and serve them with the apple dip on top.
