Copper(II) sulphate is an inorganic molecule having the chemical formula CuSO4x, where x can range from 0 to 5. The most frequent form is the pentahydrate. Blue vitriol, bluestone, vitriol of copper, and Roman vitriol are some of the older names for this chemical.

Copper sulphate is used extensively by the agriculture business. In the animal feedstock sulphate business, the usage of copper sulphate in the development of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and fertilisers is predicted to grow dramatically. Copper sulphate adhesives used in the creation of paints and glues, for example, contribute significantly to the rising demand for copper sulphate. Copper sulphate is increasingly being used as an addition in book binding pastes and glues to protect them from book pests. Sulfate, a very flexible chemical, is frequently employed in the construction industry as a disinfectant and water-resistant component in concrete.
