Breaking any unspoken rules by using 3 prompts in one artwork. But listen. I'm late. And I got ideas I had to draw. We're all winners in the end, right?
Anyway, chocolate + baking + gunpowder = whatever this is ❤️🩹

COPOWTOBER
Day 3: Gunpowder
JUST FORGET TO POST IT HERE :((. And the way Clover heals themselves in the game by eating gunpowder makes me laugh.

Copowtober (Day 1: Chocolate)
What? Me being late to post something? What nonsense, I'm just... early to being late!
But for real though, I completely forgot to do something for Copowtober (totally didn't find out about it today) and now I'm playing catch up.
Er-- I mean, y'know?
...Let's just get into the story yeah?
--------------------
They were taking a very large step in their relationship with the Cowpoke. Yes, Chara had finally decided to give them the most luxurious gift of all–chocolate.
No, it wasn’t store-bought. It was personally crafted by Chara themself. They even managed to include gunpowder in it somehow.
…Don’t ask them how. Seriously, they have no idea.
They knocked on the wooden door leading to Clover’s room. Lately, Clover had been sleeping in more, something about not being used to waking up early for school. Chara frowned, It didn’t take a genius to figure out that they both shared the same kind of “home life” on the Surface.
“Huh?” Clover’s voice called out from inside. “Oh–come in!”
Chara’s palms started to sweat. They weren’t sure why–it was just a simple gift.
…Or so they told themself.
They’d been dating for a while now, but despite that, hadn’t done much beyond holding hands more often. Not that Chara was complaining, but could you blame them for wanting a little bit more? They liked being given affection by the other human after all.
“Uh… hello?”
They shouldn’t keep the Cowpoke waiting.
Chara pushed open the door, holding the chocolate. “It’s me.”
The room was filled with all kinds of knickknacks from their Underground adventures–each one a tiny story crammed onto a shelf. It was surprising how well everything turned out despite the multiple tragedies that occurred in them.
“Chara!” Clover perked up from where they sat. They looked to be fiddling with pellets–strange considering they hadn’t used anything but rubber ones since that whole fiasco had ended. “Wait, didn’t you have that important royal thingy to do?”
Ah, right, that.
“Er, it sorted itself out,” Chara muttered. In truth, it had just been an excuse to make time for this. “Here,” they held out the chocolate, “I, uh, got you something I thought you’d like.”
Clover stood, almost too quickly, nearly knocking something off the table. “Oh! Uh–thanks,” they said, walking over. There was a faint hesitation in their steps, but Chara didn’t think much of it. They were too busy trying not to stare at Clover’s eyes.
It was strange having to look up at them now.
‘Damn you, nutrition,’ Chara cursed inwardly. Maybe all that teasing had finally caught up with them.
“Is this chocolate?” Clover asked, taking it carefully. “Wow, thanks!”
Their smile was so bright it hit Chara like a punch to the chest. Their face heated up immediately.
…No, they weren’t blushing. That would be ridiculous.
Chara scratched at their neck. “Y-yeah,” their voice cracked slightly. Angel, this was embarrassing, they sounded like a kid!
…Granted, they were thirteen, but still!
It wasn’t as if—
Plop!
Clover popped a piece into their mouth.
“Yum!” they exclaimed. “How’d you find one that has gunpowder in it?”
“…Made it,” Chara muttered.
“Eh?”
“I made it. I know, it’s great,” Chara boasted, closing their eyes to make the confidence easier to fake. “Hold your praises until—”
A quick peck on the cheek froze them mid-sentence.
Did Clover just—!?
“I’ll, uh, make sure to… pay you back properly later,” Clover stammered, voice slightly higher than usual. They looked away right after, scratching the back of their neck as if nothing happened. “Actually, are you free right now? Kanako and the others asked if—”
Chara pressed a hand to their cheek. It had been so long since they had done anything like that… not since their confession anyway.
‘Nope. Not thinking about that.’
As nice as that memory was, they already felt like melting with just that kiss. If they thought about it anymore they would seriously end up in flames. (Probably)
“Or we could just stay here if you want, your call,” Clover said, eyes darting briefly toward the floor. “...Chara?”
“...”
Clover hesitated, then awkwardly held out a piece of the chocolate, smiling just a little too wide.
‘Angel, they are such a dork.’
…How’d Chara get so lucky?
“Chara—”
Before they could finish, Chara leaned forward and pecked their cheek.
“Wha—!?”
Chara stepped back with a mischievous grin. “Is something the matter?”
Clover blinked rapidly, then laughed—soft, flustered, but happy. “No, no, I think… I think nothing’s wrong.”
That chocolate was worthwhile.
Worthwhile indeed.
-----
Hm...debating on whether or not to post this to ao3 as it's own thing or apart of Gunpowder and Cocoa.
Anyway, I hoped you enjoyed the read!
