The tools of the cooper are quite distinctive. In order to form the round casks of the trade, many of the cooper's tools are arc-shaped. The croze, exaples seen here at the left and right sides, was used to cut a groove inside the staves. The sun plane, seen in the middle, was used to level the edge of the stave ends. These tools will be auctioned in Humboldt, Iowa on May 4, 2013 by Great Planes Trading.
