It sorta seems like the person who would actually wear this t-shirt is probably the most likely to die sooner rather than later, yes? That said when I first moved to LA ten years ago I thought it was funny to buy surfer t-shirts because those who knew me well actually understood that I was wearing them because it was funny to me (I’m big on self entertainment) Because I hate the sun, I’m very indoorsy, and I am not coordinated enough or even the slightest bit interested in surfing. (Besides being riveted by the movie Mavericks on a plane once.) In fact that laid back surfer vibe may be the exact opposite of my entire personality. Anyway, no one “got the joke” but me... and what happened instead, since I live on the west side, was I’d get a lot of head nods by surfer dudes over my “righteous threads”... (okay, they didn’t say that, but that’s how I’d script it because it’d be funny if they used some hardcore surfer speak... and as I don’t know any surfers currently so I don’t have the updated vocab...) Anyway, I often think about the clothes the characters I write about would wear... so I’ve been doing lots of looking online lately. This particular t-shirt caught my eye, because I sort of love the brazen and ridiculous sentiment of it, and I feel like they are trying to be funny (like me in a surfer tee) but yet I know it’s meant totally seriously. I feel like this is a perfect shirt for a teenager. They should actually believe this shirt, could wear it proudly, and not even give a F. (Okay, I’m struggling with this not swearing thing... my nieces and nephew follow me, and I don’t want to be a potty mouth influencing factor in their lives... Hmmmmm... what to do, what to do....
