so hi, everyone, im garry, i work as a line cook/general cook for places n things
i am pretty even tempered i think, as far as cooks go, could be worse but I've been known to lose it every once in a while. Rarely even.
I tend to work very hard and diligently, or to the best of my ability. I've found enough skill and learned enough to be fairly okay at what I do. I'm not sure if I'd be the best, but I'm working on it.
My timing is better with every new job I take but I'm honestly getting sick and tired of being... Taken for a ride in terms of petty bullshit. If my work is good, and i get caught up I don't find it all that crazy to sit outside of a break. Honestly if they would have stopped it there I would bave gotten over it.
I work back of house, i do not see customers, nor do i ever want to. I generally space out n do work. If i have time I clean more than i need to. I dont think I'll be doing that anymore. I do not think my employer at this point in time deserves half of my best. They are slowly rolling out new policy to ban using headphones and chairs and phones during working hours. Not that managers are even ever in here to check.
This all started rolling out mid march. And they're actually pushing away all the employees that know what they're doing. The kitchens are suffering and the ability to actually complete tasks is lessened while the workload mounts.
I don't want to fuck over my coworkers, so i wont make it unbearable for them. They are also trying to get us uniforms with polos and the like. This would be a bad idea on several fronts, but most pressing is that we all already wear all black, and generally are still overheating, it'll get worse with these new proposed uniforms. Thick and heavy someone is definitely going to die of heat stroke.
anyway. I don't really know what to do about it besides, do my job at the barest minimum. They really won't see me budge on anything substantial unless they want to start signing papers about new policy.
honestly, maybe they should mind their business.
