Desmond growing up in a cult was not something he shared with many people. He always told people they were far away and left to prevent any harm, and it was exactly the opposite. His entire way of life formed from that experience, where he’d been able to do anything he wanted as long as he played along. Neither his adoptive parents knew what he was, but they knew the extent of his abilities at the time. There was a strong approach to the bible, and while the cult wasn’t dangerous blood sacrifices, there were a lot of manipulation and scare tactics on the basis of their being an incoming apocalypse that wasn’t true that would send all souls to hell if they were raptured. Desmond never understood it, but he got a lot out of it that may or may not be negative now.
The Apothecary shop was a place he stumbled upon drunk because he needed somewhere to use the restroom, but the plants along with the hot guy than ran it pulled him back. Plants were a big part of his life, and growing up, offered peace because he’d been able to escape and admire the smell. He’d come randomly, sometimes once a week and sometimes twice depending on if it were his usual route. He opened the door, waving down the male before coming up to the counter. “Sober this time, so I won’t be hitting on you...tooo much.” Des turned around, putting his shoulders on the counter. “Busy day?”
