I figure there’s a good chance you’re at least a little bit interested in science fiction, history, fantasy, art, and all that good geeky stuff - which we’ll have, in person and online, in abundance for all FOUR days of 7-10 April 2023.
And if that’s not enough, I (the Programme lead, open to suggestions for what you want to see on programme) will definitely share photos of my cats on demand:
- Four days of panels, talks, signings, readings, workshops, and more!
- Fantastic guests of honour: award winning authors Zen Cho, Ursula Vernon, and Adrian Tchaikovsky, editor for the ages Niall Harrison, scandalously talented academic Kari Sperring, and game design legend Jennell Jaquays
- Additional guests speaking on everything from the history of octopus intelligence to the future of African science fiction.
- 100% streaming parity. All those panels, readings and talks? Will be streamed! And if we can’t stream something like a workshop? We’ll do our best to stream something else in that slot so you never miss out!
- An Art Show, with a gallery tour and both prints & original pieces available
- At least one family-friendly stream during all daytime time slots, suitable for families with children.
- A creche, quiet room, real ale bar, games room, and alcohol-free social space.
- A dedicated Access team to make sure that whether you have allergies, mobility requirements, or sensory needs, we can do our best to help.
- A bursary to help under-represented groups attend and be at the heart of the con.
- A convention owned and run entirely by fandom, for fandom since 1955- which means that members can vote on how the convention runs, who runs it, or even step up and volunteer to run parts of it themselves. Including you!
- rewards for volunteering: badges, t-shirts, and some years even enamel pins or exclusive discounts with tables in our dealers’ room
