#convalescing

Day 2.5 of the healing process. Had to take Tylenol at 5 hours instead of 6 this afternoon but so far I’m able to just take Tylenol.

Am getting tired of cold, soft food. Yogurt, protein shakes, ice cream, cold coffee, iced water and ginger ale. Mixed it up with some mashed potatoes but had to make sure they weren’t piping hot.

Things that are hard not to do: spit. Seriously, next time you take a shower count how many times you spit water out of your mouth. Bend over. Turns out it’s something I do often (hey oh!). Consciously slowing down to not default to habit is tiring.

Finished latest season of “Slow Horses” and began “Down Cemetery Road.” Both are excellent.

“The Lost Bookshop” is sweet book. A bit loosey-goosey with plot but a fun read.

Working from home this week. Plus side to convalescing.

It’s mid-morning of day one and I’m already a leetle stir crazy. Would normally be heading out the door right now for my Saturday morning strength training class.

I’m getting my squats in, though. Have to be careful to not hang my head down below my waist, so no bending over to pick things up, etc. Am doing a lot of grand pliés.

Poor Matt. Seriously, y’all - send @painedbrain lots of love because I’m gonna drive him nuts.

I got permission to work from home this week but, depending on how weekend and Monday go, I might go in just to keep myself from wanting to do stuff I can’t/shouldn’t do.

Not wanting to do stuff is one thing. Being told not to do stuff is a whole other thing.
