Sana wasn't happy, nope. Even though they all were celebrating at the bar and even though Sam's arm was around her shoulders, her eyes were glaring daggers at all the girls who couldn't seem to stop sending flirty looks at her boyfriend, much to his amusement apparently. After yet another one of those girls walked past their table and gave him some kind of bashful smile, Sana had enough. Sam was wandering around the mall as he always did during his shifts. It was his job to make sure that everything was in order and even though, he could technically stay in the control room and simply watch the cameras, it usually got quite stuffy in there after a while and he needed some change of scenery and some fresh air. His first step was usually somewhere out the back so he could smoke a cigarette. Sana's question took Sam by surprise and he wasn't sure how to reply. Of course, he could easily build up a response in his head but he wasn't exactly great when it came to putting those thoughts into words, even more so when it involved feelings towards someone else, especially someone who meant a lot to him, like Sana. If there was something that Sam didn't like, it was being put in a corner that he couldn't find an easy escape from and that's exactly how he felt the more he thought for an answer to Sana's question.

It actually also made him really think about what Sana was to him because so far, that's something he's never really wasted a second on thinking about. She was his friend but she was also his partner, his girlfriend, his lover, sometimes his enemy, and a nuisance that he wants nothing more than to get away from but at the end of the day and most of all, she was someone he appreciated to have in his life and someone he'd do pretty much anything for even if it meant giving up his own life.

That's exactly what he could've told her if only he'd be able to say it out loud exactly the way he said those things in his head, instead, he decided to do something completely different.
