How toilet paper saved my marriage.
Cottonelle Ultra has been running this ad, and other ones similar to it, recently.
What got me was the ending. The voiceover says that little switches make all the difference and you could win prizes online to mix it up in your life, while an animated couple, kiss lovingly.
Um.
I actually rewound my DVR to watch it again two more times. There was a subtle implication that a routine marriage could benefit from a fresh touch every once in awhile. And sometimes that meant for your ass too.
Thinking this was absurd, I had to check out the Web site.
They did have prizes like they promised. The one I was prompted with was for a personal trainer. Maybe rekindle that spark with a clean bottom and hard abs?
There were also clips of a fictional game show "Bathroom Banter." You could even do a bathroom-style "Newlywed Game," and quiz your significant other on who makes a bigger mess.
This might be the most ridiculous over-promise yet.
I'll leave you with my favorite quote from the site:
"You deserve a little luxury in every relationship, and so does your bottom! That's why Cottonelle Ultra Toilet Paper wants you to switch it up in the bathroom."
