Checkout Contrakids and their debut EP // Into You

Contrakids is a group of two individuals from Sydney, Australia that makes well-crafted, sometimes cinematic pop songs. Incorporating the caused effects of intricate textures and multiplying layers, their debut EP Into You portrays a wide array of moods and styles. Some tracks develop slowly by building gradually over an initial concept. It is almost as if the band intended for certain ones to inspire a reflective, internal connection. There can be no expectation, as it seems the unexpected is more often than not what will follow. While some keep the listener postured upon a steady incline, the occasional track encompasses the full-on energy that one may have anticipated to follow one from earlier on the album and so on. Well-controlled vocal melodies weave in and out of synthesized, 80'sesque tones and electrified drum kits. Certain characteristics regarding song structure almost allude to the really nostalgic kind of R&B tunes we used to rock back and forth to on a pair of roller skates/blades at the local rink.
