Glass shattered as she slammed through the upstairs window from where she’d been lying in wait. She saw him him try to spin, just a little too slow from where he’d been focused on a tiny part of her she’d left three streets over - the same part she’d let flare up with Ki while she’d dampened the rest of her.
She hit Mira with the force of a truck and even despite their size difference she took him from the air, breaking the pretty white picket fence ringing the house and gouging a crater in the asphalt in the middle of the street.
(She didn’t know how many presets the Arena had. This seemed more like one Mom had requested though-)
She shrieked and snapped for his throat, missed as he jerked his head back and caught the nape of his shoulder instead. She clamped down, feeling his skin flex and resist for an instant before her fangs met meat, blood filled her mouth and she worried him like a terrier with a rat.
That earned a grunt. She wound tendrils around his arms as he reached for her but he tore through them with a flex, scruffed her and ripped her free from his shoulder. She snarled with bloody fangs, twisted her head around further than anything natural could and tore into his wrist, matting the fur red. He slammed her into the concrete face-first once, twice, then twisted and drove his other fist into the bottom of her back.
Her eyes bugged and the pain of it. She barely had time to react before he was up and catching her in the stomach with his boot. Plum was tossed like a ragdoll, the house she hit almost a block over imploding in a shower of splinters and broken glass as though it’d been hit by a bomb.
Ow.
She felt her body reject the shards of glass and wood, pushing them out as she rocketed back into the sky, trying to focus through the ache in her head (she liked he could hurt her), hunting for him. He-
He didn’t laugh much, but she heard him chuckle under his breath and felt the pinpricks of Ki against her dress. She huffed and flipped him off over one shoulder as his blast smashed her back into the house she’d just left, leaving a crater and a very dazed Plum.
She opened her eyes as he floated down to her level, fingers working as he signed;
She huffed a little and stuck her tongue out. She didn’t like admitting defeat. Sometimes they were a lot closer than this. Today was just an off-day.
“Can we go get icecream? Pleaaaase?”
Mira shrugged a little, bored. She smirked and added;
“We can go hunt down those guys from the other day afterwards~”
She saw him perk up a little. He reached down, scruffed her by the front of the dress like she was a bag of luggage and began to walk out of the arena with her. She giggled and wrapped a pigtail around his arm.
