The legal term "appropriate adult" made its way into the script and as far as I can tell it's not used in Canada or in the US, just the British [& Welsh according to Wikipedia] legal systems.

Ha, take that NYT TV critic who thought we wouldn't notice! Also, really, nobody's "Britpicking" [or whatever its opposite would be]?

Chibnall, Gardner, Featherstone: at least make an effort! There are fic writers who put a whole lot more effort into their work than you do, apparently.
