HOW TO DRAMATICALLY INCREASE YOUR BLOG TRAFFIC
If you want reliable and targeted organic traffic but don’t know where to begin... this post is going to be your best resource. Read it and act on it.. you'll find that it works incredibly well.
More specifically, there are 7 proven strategies that I use to triple my blog’s traffic. I will show you the first three ways here.
HOW TO CREATE VIRAL CONTENT
Everyone wants to create viral content, but most bloggers fail. That’s because they don’t pay attention to the sites that successfully create viral posts, day in and day out. If they did, they would learn three secrets of viral content creation to increase their own blog traffic.
The first secret, which isn’t really a secret, is to write great headlines. 8 out of 10 people will click to read your content if you get the headline right.
Headlines perform the best when they are polarizing. These are divided opinions. You love it or hate it... But the most important part is that your readers care enough to do one of these two things. There is nothing in between.
I know, “Clickbait” is a dirty word. In this time of “fake news” no one wants to be tricked into clicking on something that ends up being "snake oil."
A good headline is not something that tries to trick someone. That kind of attention is very short-lived. A headline that draws readers in and encourages them to click through to your site should be followed up by the highest quality, truthful content. The headline may have baited them, sure, but in a sea of content you need to be noticed. However, the product and your content has to back it up.
READERS HAVE SHORT ATTENTION SPANS
But, people have short attention spans, you say. You just have to trust me on this one. Your posts need to be north of 2,500 words.
Why? Because… The truth is, it's Google that is ranking your content and if they don't feel it has value, they won't show it to anyone.
Most bloggers still haven’t caught on to this and are doing quick 500 word posts. How much great quality content can you provide in a 500 word post. Your extended blog posts will stand out.
Longer posts are good for backlinks. This give you lots of evergreen content and the ability to rank for a wider range of keywords. Google has gotten a lot smarter lately.
You no longer have to use exact match keywords for them to recognize the relationship to the the main keywords you're trying to rank for. In fact, it's better if you don't.
I prefer to let them figure it out. It ends up looking much more natural and natural is more important to your ranking than exact matching keywords. The days of "keyword stuffing" an article are long gone.
Your organic search traffic comes when you become the "go-to" person on a given topic. You did the work. You did the digging and the research. Your reader can find every single thing they need to know from your post and doesn’t need go elsewhere to supplement the information.
Did I mention evergreen? These posts have staying power and your links will remain live years.
