First Week
First week at college seems to have come and gone in a flash. From learning about the dark room to using Indesign, there is so much to learn before the main project starts.Â
On day One Barry taught us about a Russian Construtivesim photographer Aleksander Mikhailovich Rodchenko. Rodchenko's work was very abstract. He took a lot of photos from below or above eye level to give a different view and shapes.
This is my image i took to show my understanding.
In Matt`s lesson we used black and white images to develop our own prints using the dark room. This was very interesting because normally pictures are taken and just sent to the printer. This method the pictures where first taken then put into photoshop and inverted. Then the images where printed and we too them into the  darkroom and went throw the process of developing our images. Firstly we took photographic paper and placed them under our images with the shiny side up. Then e place a wooden board revealing 2cm of the image and flash the light for 1 sec, then move the image another 2 cm and repeat the process till we have revealed the whole image. the image is the placeced in the first bath for 2 mins, next bath 30 sec, next bath 3 mins and finally rinse for 5 min. When finished take the image out and look at the image and decide which time works best. For my image 5 sec under the light worked perfect.Â
In Sarahs lesson we looked at using Adobe Indesign for all or projects. Looking at the software at first seemed daunting but after following Sarahs instructions i quickly realised that is very easy to use and most of the shortcuts are the same as Adobe Photoshop. We Took screenshots to show our work flow and help us in future.Â
