The Consequence Argument Fails
The consequence argument implies that mental states reduce to brain states. That’s the only way that there could be a single and complete set of mechanical laws that allow for all events to be predicted from a single state of the universe at one time.
However, mind-body reductionism fails (because the fact of nuroplasticity refutes the possibility of “bridge laws” that map TYPES of mental states to TYPES of physical states). Therefore, the consequence argument also fails. Change my mind.
