THE WEBSITE FOR FIRE EMBLEM CONQUEST REWRITTEN IS NOW LIVE

Hello all, Twi here! In case you don't know, I'm working on a project call "Conquest Rewritten," which uses developmental editing techniques to draw out the latent themes in Fire Emblem Conquest. I'm about halfway through the chapters at this point, so for the sake of convenience, I decided to put together a website to act as a directory!

The publishing of this website includes:

-Easy to navigate Directories for all Rewritten Chapters and Original Scripts -An introductory section for those who know nothing about Fire Emblem Conquest

-ALL OF THE ORIGINAL GAME SCRIPTS BEING TRANSFERRED FROM FIRE EMBLEM WIKIA INTO GOOGLE DOCS FORMATS FOR EASIER PERUSAL

That last one is a big one folks, you have no idea how long it took to transfer the original script dialogue from the wikia to individual documents and have them all linked together. I swear, the formatting on the Fire Emblem wikia is atrocious.

Anyways, if you ever wanted to check out Fire Emblem Conquest, now is your best chance to do so! Or if you just want a database of the original Conquest scripts, you can use it for that too. Hope you enjoy, and happy reading!!

So, it's been a bit since I've updated this project. I won't lie when I say that I lost motivation for a while, been going through my Senior Year of university while also working on my other longform Puss in Boots fanfiction, "Life, Death, A Secret Third Thing" (which you should also check out I'm really proud of it). But after some time to step back and breathe, along with some extremely kind words from people, I decided to hop back in.

I'm proud to say that Chapters 13-15 have been my best work so far, and have some of the biggest and most worthwhile changes to Conquest's story! Such changes include...

-Garon offering Azura a peaceful life by his side, as long as she sings Arete's songs-Camilla reaching the breaking point between her and Livéle's relationship-Azura and Lilith's assassination plan comes to fruition-Livéle finally makes a stand against Garon -The true puppetmaster is revealed...

I recently decided to replay Conquest after years of not even thinking about it, and I've been having a lot of fun! It's my first time playing on Classic/Permadeath, so learning the intricacies of the system for the first time is really fun!

Only thing is that, now as someone aiming for a Creative Writing bachelors and having experience editing... wow the story is not written well. Conquest has its moments, but there is a LOT of missed potential.

But that's the key word here: Missed Potential. For Conquest's story, it had the chance to be really good. The bedrock for an amazing story was all there--you side with the Obviously Evil King because you love the family that raised you and want to rescue them from their abusive father. But with just how blatantly evil King Garon is, Lilith being completely absent from the plot (despite showing up in Chapter 7) and Corrin's honestly irresponsible method of conducting himself in a War Zone, it's hard to see the gold under the grime.

So I thought, "Hey, I'm aiming to be a developmental editor for authors and have experience dabbling in editing already. How about we try using those skills on Conquest?"

And thus, Conquest Rewritten was born!

I'm going to do my best to utilize all of the elements currently present within the game to draw out a more impactful story. This means that there will be no new assets (artwork, voice acting, maps) added in. Every chapter and map will still be the same gameplay-wise, every major event will proceed as it originally did. The only difference is how it is done. The job of a developmental editor is to polish the original story, not create a new one after all!

If you're interested, feel free to come along for the ride! At the moment, Chapters 1-7 have been edited to a point I am satisfied with (though 1 and 6 didn't need any major revisions). I'll likely be releasing edited chapters in batches like this in the future. I'm currently busy with University work, so keep in mind that I might not update too often.

Hiya y'all! Twi/Brandy here. Sorry for not updating this in a while, I've been extremely busy the past few months. traveling, spring classes and other personal projects all built up together that before I knew it, four months have passed! I promise I still wanna work on this, I'm just a little bit slow with these things.

Anyways, Chapters 11-12 for Conquest Rewritten are now available! I was originally planning on releasing Chapters 11-14 together, but since I haven't updated in a while and also due to the general pacing of the story, I thought it would be better if I released these two chapters on their own. Chapters 13-15 will be released as their own batch. Check out the "Read More" link further down for a sneak peek!

Alongside that, I now have a "Feedback Form!" Since tumblr and google docs isn't the best place for conversation, I thought it'd be better if I had a place to get feedback for these things. Click this sentence you're reading right now to access it!
