FEAR LESS, CONQUER MORE Before inking trepidation begins poisoning my art process on this piece, infecting my mind with thoughts of failing... 🌑 "It's going to look horrible when I finish" "I'm not prepared for this work" "People are going to call out my flaws" When these toxic thoughts begin seeping into my cerebral cortex I instantly remember "Finish Not Perfect" a quote from @jakeparker that constantly helps me to shut out the dark thoughts with glimmers of light... ☀️ "When I finish I'll be a little better than now" "I'll be better prepared on the next project" "My flaws make me unique" So as I squash these insecure thoughts while working on my mission, I try to keep in the forethought of my process that although it won't be flawless... in the end, I am at least fearing LESS and conquering MORE! Perfection exists?
Overgrown pt. 2
As a stare into the tattered path I think to myself.
I don’t want to be at the bottom, ima fight to the top shelf.
I pull out my sword with eyes full of fire.
Swing at the vines with a heart full of desire.
I was given a purpose and I refuse to waste it.
Every powerful swing I make a devistating hit.
It’s only the beginning and the Forest is filled with fear.
I left this path unloved, I brought myself here.
The yellow eyes are gone, but the darkness remains.
The tears that I’ve cried left too many stains.
The blood is on my hands and they can’t be washed away.
So why look at them and let them leave me astray?
It is a part of me and I need them to purify the path to a better ending.
Plant flowers along the way, pure joy everlasting.
I don’t have time to think about how long this will take.
If I do, then I’ll just let the forest make me break.
But I’m stronger than the oldest tree that has been planted.
It may be the one that will block the way.
But that’s not where I will stay.
I’ll have to cross that bridge when I get there.
Because when I make it to the heavy flowing stream of sorrow,
I’ll believe that it won’t be there tomorrow.
Because I will build this bridge with the iron in my blood.
Forge a bond that will never be broken.
Build a foundation that won’t be forgotten.
I will make it through day after day.
But the voices in me head sit here and stay.
I will leave them behind so they can never again follow.
They will never know where I’m going to go.
So I will keep swinging with my heart full of desire.
I will look ahead with eyes full of fire.
