Whats happening to Bengaluru?

Bengaluru, the city once known as the Garden city of India, and as the City of Lakes today has lost about 88% of its vegetation and 79% of its water bodies. This senseless urbanization (1005% growth in concrete area) has infamously ranked the city second in Air Pollution next to Delhi in India.

I was just reading an article titled 'City of burning lakes' and it saddened me.

The story of Bengaluru is beginning to sound like a distopian dream, like the stories of places in history that started small, grew into thriving metropolises, just to dwindle and vanish. Benguluru today seems to be collapsing on its own weight.

I try to see the positive side of things but, I fail to escape the glaring truth that mocks.
