Totally recorded this show from the PBS broadcast (rerun) from that year and it fueled my passion for the marching arts (100%). I watched this show SO many times and made it my model for how I would approach my high school marching band (which would then lead me directly into drum corps a few years later). It was a full circle moment for me when I earned a gold medal on that same field (being lead by the same Brass Caption Head; Gino Cipriani). This show and Crossmen’s ‘92 show are the 2 shows that changed my life (in a monumental way). This is the one show that I always think of when I think of the quintessential Concord Blue Devils.💙

Another Totally AWESOME show by BD based around a darker theme. Loosely based around films such as Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver”, Hitchcock’s “North By Northwest” and “Psycho” - this particular show, entitled “Methods of Madness”, is yet another fine example of the powerhouse corps that is the Concord Blue Devils. I totally marched with a dude in Magic who marched Baritone in this show (CURLY!) - I also totally had the honor of marching with a couple of Cadets from that season, too (Victor & Jeanette!). AWESOME VIBES!

That moment when the ‘92 Concord Blue Devils blew the house down at DCI Finals and made it all Hot & Steamy (LOL).

Children: Avert your eyes. hahahaha. Blue Devils’ brassline has always been monumental in DCI’s rich history of amazing musicianship (it’s hard to believe at times that it’s merely a youth-based activity considering the amount of power and brilliance and sophistication that comes with drum corps - this is one of many jaw-dropping moments in DCI).

I can’t help but share these awesome moments because as someone who has been a loyal fan (and alumni) of drum corps and of music altogether - this is something that should never go away - the power of performance should always prevail.
