Real Diego Showing + Concerned Felipe

Diego: It's, um… A shame the war with the French goes so poorly. Risendo: Poorly? We are close to victory. Diego: Well, but just yesterday I received a letter from an old friend, a captain in the cavalry. He tells me our armies are being routed. Risendo: And just what would be the name of your friend, this captain? Diego: He said that his men are laying down their arms in surrender. After all, he should know what's he talking about. He's in the front lines, not collecting taxes in the colonies… Risendo, raising his voice: I'll have his name! Diego: It's really not important. Risendo: Lieutenant Hidalgo, take this arrogant caballero to the cuartel! *Diego walks toward Hidalgo as Victoria whispers worriedly to Don Alejandro, who then looks over at a worried Felipe.*

Real Diego Showing + Concerned Felipe

*Diego looks at Risendo, blood dripping from his right arm to stain his shirt sleeve.*

Risendo: You had thought no one had noticed…

*He lunges at Diego.*

Risendo: I've found you out, Diego!

*Diego fights back while holding his right elbow with his left hand. Their swords circle each other, drawing Diego and Risendo up against each other.*

Risendo: I left Zorro under a pile of rocks in Diablo Canyon, and now you stink of cordite from the explosion.

*He grabs Diego's upper right arm.*

Risendo: Zorro and Diego are one and the same, aren't they? The enigma's solved, the secret is out!

*He pushes Diego away, then lunges at him - trying to slash at Diego's head, who's ducks down. Risendo's sword hits a wall, before Diego kicks Risendo in the face, making him fall backward.*

Diego, through clenched teeth: It will never leave this garden.

*Risendo smiles triumphantly as Diego switches his sword from his right hand to his left. The two of them circle each other warily again, while Don Alejandro - who's holding a pistol - and a worried Felipe appearing in the doorway leading to the courtyard.*

Don Alejandro: Out of the way, Diego.

Diego, staring at Risendo: No, Father: he's mine.

*He lunges at Risendo and they begin to duel again.*

Don Alejandro, uttery surprised: Diego?! I've never seen such fierceness!

*He then looks over at Felipe, who looks worried and nervous.*

Concerned Felipe + Angry Diego

*Diego grimaces in pain as he fences with Felipe. He grabs his right wrist with his left hand before blocking Felipe's sword and doubles over in pain. Immediatly Felipe, concerned, comes near - but Diego straightens back up and angrily slices at a plant several times with his sword, before throw it away.* Diego, as he grabs his right arm: This arm is practically useless! It's no where near healed!

Diego & Alejandro De la Vega’s Moments + Concerned Felipe

Don Alejandro: Diego, there's something that's been gnawing inside of me. Diego, resolute: Father, there is something I've been meaning to tell you for quite some time. Felipe, Victoria, if you will excuse us for a moment… *He holds out his hand and leads Don Alejandro away, as Victoria goes over to stand next to Felipe - who looks worried. Victoria looks over at him, and he waves his hands then shrugs.* Don Alejandro, to Diego, as they walk toward the tavern: Do you remember when Gilberto was just about to shoot you? He said he was not only going to kill you, he was going to kill… *He stops and turns to face Diego.* Don Alejandro: Then he never finished. What do you suppose he was going to say?

Concerned Felipe + Diego and Felipe’s Father & Son/Brothers Moments

Diego, hesitant: There is something I have been meaning to tell you all for quite some time…

*Victoria looks at him with a confused expression.*

Diego: Now would seem an appropriate moment. Felipe, with your permission…

*Felipe looks at him with worried confusion.*

Diego: I… I am… going to adopt Felipe. He's to be a member of our family.

*Victoria laughs happily.*

Don Alejandro, smiling broadly: This is wonderful news!

*He hugs Felipe, who is grinning.*

Don Alejandro, letting go of Felipe: This is wonderful news! I now have two sons. The de la Vegas will never be divided, never!

*Felipe lets out a sigh of relief as Victoria giggles and Diego exhales and smiles.*

Concerned Felipe + Protective Diego

*A really concerned Felipe runs into the room and grabs Diego's arm.*

Diego: What is it, Felipe?

*Felipe, increasingly concerned, reaches for his hip - miming like a sword is there - then he touches his hands to his chest, flings his hands outward, runs his hands down the sides of his face and then pushes his hands to his right.*

Diego, shocked: Risendo is taking Victoria to Monterey?! Why, in heaven's name?

*Felipe pumps his left hand forward twice, then motions his right hand across his throat.*

Diego: To face the Inquisitor General?!

*Diego looks clearly upset.*

Diego, through clenched teeth: By the time I finish with Risendo, he'll rue the day he ever set foot in Los Angeles!

*He throws down his paper and quill.*

Diego: Saddle Toronado.

*He grabs Felipe's shoulder and they run out of the room.*

Concerned Felipe

*Risendo turns and puts his hand on the fireplace mantle. Immediatly Felipe turns and gulps, as Risendo's hand fondles the mantle.* Risendo: There's more to Don Diego de la Vega than meets the eye... *He taps his fingers on the mantle, and Felipe stares worriedly for a moment - before looking away.*

Concerned Felipe + Concerned Diego

*Diego sits at his desk, looking through a book as a worried Felipe paces nervously.* Diego, looking up from the book at him: Felipe, please try to relax. *Felipe comes up to the desk, points at Diego, then at his own head. He then makes an arc with his index finger then sticks out his chest.* Diego, worried himself: Do I think Mendoza's really gone bad? It certainly looks that way… *Felipe resumes pacing while Diego returns to his book.*
