After months of speculation, Warner Bros. and New Line revealed the cast for 'The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum' at CinemaCon.

Jamie Dornan will play Strider (Aragorn), taking over from Viggo Mortensen, while Leo Woodall joins as fellow Dúnedain Halvard, and Lee Pace returns as Thranduil. Kate Winslet joins the cast, with Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood returning as Gandalf and Frodo.

Directed by Andy Serkis—who also reprises his role as Gollum—the film continues the franchise’s tradition of blending returning stars with new talent. Set between 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings,' the story follows Aragorn and Gandalf as they search for Gollum to uncover secrets about Bilbo’s ring, later revealed as the One Ring.

The film is slated for release on December 17, 2027, with a second installment, 'The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past,' already in development.
