The one thing I will defend TikTok on is that the editors on there are really good. I just know theyāll cook up some of the best edits once Fortuneās Weave is out. I have faith in them.

Iāve seen a lot of people on TikTok arguing against people calling Kris āhe/himā or āshe/herā and defending it by saying āwell I bought the game, I get to decide their pronouns*ā by saying that they bought a Mario game and thus headcanoning Mario as a trans lesbian.
Except that I kinda fuck with that idea a lot. I donāt think I personally headcanon it, but itās something Iād like to see more earnest interpretations of, rather than binarising Kris. Honestly, if you ask me, Mario is the kind of character who you can put nearly any headcanon onto and Iād completely understand it. Heās kinda like the Anti-Kris in that way.
*yeah, I know I used they/them there instead of he or she, but I will not misgender Kris even acting as someone else who would
Just realised that Iāve been subconsciously imagining Captain Marigold from Murdle to look the same as Brigid from Fire Emblem (except with blue eyes instead of brown), and now Iām not taking it back. Theyāre doppelgƤngers now in my eyes
Messy notes for my personal B design. Kinda went very hard on the 2010s tumblr artstyle look for their initial design, since theyāre so full of whimsy at the start. And then plot happens lol. Itās a bit messy, especially post book, so apologies for that. But hey, B is out now!
Talking about the Oracle Deck here for Murdle and some implications, if you donāt want to be spoiled then avoid it. Also CW for mentions of racist stereotypes accidentally arising out of fanfiction
So Iām guessing itās been soft confirmed that there are no set ācanonā designs for any of the Murdle characters? Because Oracle Deck!Irratino looks pretty different to Puzzle!Irratino. I think I prefer the Puzzle design, thatās what I based my headcanoned design on, but the Oracle Deck look isnāt bad! I like the extra accessories.
But if this isnāt a soft confirmation, it does mean I have to update my Logico design quite a bit. Especially with the facial hair. I did not think heād pull it off as well as he does ngl, I do like it. Also the pencils on the hat is something I am incorporating into my HC design, no matter what. Thatās genius. Also I do like Logico being darker skinned in this, I think thatās nice.
The only thing I donāt like is that if this not a soft confirmation that there is no ācanonā design then this comes with unfortunate implications for my fanfic (for context: it features child abuse and abandonment, and I (a white person) donāt feel very confortable writing that subject matter about a PoC character because of racist stereotypes). Itās not cancelled, but if this isnāt soft confirmation that itās cool to just carry on with my own designs and go forth with it, then it might take longer to write.
Also I was gonna end it there but I checked on the Barnes and Noble page and thereās a very small render of Dame Obsidian and Iām pretty sure she also has darker skinned than her Puzzle and Website counterparts. Again, I think thatās soft confirmation, but at least this time sheās moving closer to my headcanoned design. I love the red on her, to boot. Hat less so, I donāt think Dame Obsidian needs a hat.

Iām about 1/8th of the way through the new Bordergrams book, and here are my thoughts so far:
Itās a bit more difficult than the previous book. There were some clues that really stumped me. I thought there being a leftover word would be more of a struggle, and while it very much has the chance to soon, itās not too bad for now.
There are more pun names! Thereās Sir Vivor (survivor) and Sir Mount (surmount, but also serves as a mount for Render) in the main plot and Sir Prize at the start. I wonder if Prize will get a main story cameo, but considering his ākilled by a bearā status, Iām guessing lot.
Thereās new terms! The territories are now parcels, the shadow states are shadow lands, and a disputed territory is now a pivotal parcel. And given the plot so far, it doesnāt look like weāre conquering anything so weāre not forcing apart or together lands, just organising things to find our way through.
I like the journal entries interspersed in the main story itself, and the lead to finding the solutions having their own little twists. I think that adds to the charm of the book.
My only gripe so far is that my book came with an error! In Quest 5, one of the terms was āMonkeyā when it was posted in the answer as āFutzā. Which is annoying, but I bet theyāll include an errata somewhere on the Bordergrams site (like with Murdle) and fix it on reprint. Ah well, it doesnāt seem like the book is littered with errors like this, and it was just a one-off.
Hey to all my fellow Murdle fans! Thereās tons of cool colours still out there to name your OC after, and even some that work as first names too! Wikipedia has a whole list of āem! Knock yourselves out OC makers!
This note was in part addressed to me, who after failing to come up with a colour for my OC, gave her an actual surname that featured a colour instead.
So, hereās a fun tip for those looking to have a more pronounced rolling r in SynthV (idk if this works for SV2, Iām just talking based on my experience since 1)
- set the note with the rolling r to Spanish. The rolling r phoneme is labelled as ārrā
- the note before the r roll, youāre gonna want to insert an extra ārā phoneme. Iāve only tried this with Japanese, but it works really well.
Also Yumaās r rolls are very neat
