Taking Computer Architecture has only made me more sure computers are just magic.
Like before this semester started, if you asked me how computers worked, I'd give a vague answer along the lines of "Electricty flows through certain logic gates to produce outcomes that do whatever is needed. Now if you ask me, I'd answer. "Computers just kinda work. A bunch of mystery steps happen somehow, and then it manages to play a full ass video game. No idea how it doesn't just explode or shatter into a million pieces, but it doesn't."
Computers are magic
Think about it. What is a computer? Its transistors, made of silicon, that are arranged in logic gates in order to make a Turing Complete machine that runs on electricity.
To put it another way; We enchanted specially prepared rocks by aligning them in specific arcane patterns in order to make an Artificial Mind, which we feed bottled lightning. How is that not magic?!
Disregard my (now deleted) previous post, I have somehow accidentally fixed the game and now we're back in business. Things are running a little slow, but it's running. I'll trial out some stuff, shut her down and start her back up, as stated in the sacred incantations of the Mechanicus.
SO I just found out about ‘virtual desktops’ and I’m pretty sure it’s magic?! Like multiple desktops for like different things but all on one computer like what the fuck?! You could make one for like studying and one for music and one for fun and one for whatever the hell you like?! I feel like I’ve been forever lied to?!

well I am not going to tempt the html gods any further with my poking and prodding. I will have to deal with the turquoise link color and the obnoxious white bar under the photos. I tried, really I did. at least the text is reaedable now and the blockquotes work. I have probably mangled this thing beyond much recognition, but at least it looks mostly okay and sort of works?
