Compression platens
In general, let’s know about Compression and platens separately. Compression is the act, process, or result of compressing. The high-strength, versatile platens have flat plates or disks surface are usually spherical in shape.
Compression tests are performed to determine an objective's behavior by applying compressive pressure to examine the objectives by using platens for the compression. Choose platens based on sample size and capacity requirements.
The compression test is for Static and Dynamic Testing Applications. Static Load Capacities range from 200 kN - 2000 kN. And Dynamic Load Capacities from 100 kN - 1000 kN. They are Self-Aligning and Spherical Seating arrangements. High Force Static Testing can be conducted. Pressure Rating from 690 MPa (100,000 psi).
Universal Testing Machines are embedded by Compression platens to perform a variety of tests on various materials to determine compression strength and compression yield strength. They are designed for easy hand-tightening to eliminate backlash.
Easy to install, compression platens are machined fixtures that are uniquely designed for the even distribution of compression loads well-performing a test. These platens have a rigid surface for compression tests in which uniform stress distribution is critical.
Specimen of various materials like plastic, metals, alloys, packaging, wood, composites, and ceramics can be tested. The Specimen shapes can be Square, cylindrical cubes shape. Specimen Load Capacities can range from 600 kN - 5000 kN.
