 I don’t normally like to speak for all trans people. But... Being pawns in the culture war is exhausting. We exist. That, apparently, is an affront to enough people that it’s easy to vilify us as a wedge issue, as a motivator to the deplorables or the fundies. And what’s worse, JUST ENOUGH people in the middle and on the left either don’t know us, not really, or have already bought the lies about us enough to find this sort of thing acceptable. Or at least, not worth fighting over. We get forced out of public spaces. We get compared to pedophiles. We just need to pee. I’m tired.
