Winn hated Mother’s Day. He hated the idea of a woman who left him to fend for himself, even after hearing about what had happened with his father. He hated the idea of celebrating something he never had, and hated even more that people would look down on him for not wanting to talk about the woman who left him when he was 9. She left him and his dad went crazy and he lost everything. Why would he want to celebrate that? 

He hated that he couldn’t go to the store or even walk out of his apartment in early May without Mother’s Day coming into conversation. Ads on the radio, billboards, and signs in all the stores. Maybe that’s why he was so upset when he walked into the DEO, maybe that’s why he refused to talk to anyone when he sat in his chair. Instead he went right to work, trying to track down the lastest alien that promised a threat to National City.
