MY COMMUNITY INTERNSHIP WITH TRY NGO
ABOUT TRY NGO TRY NGO (www.tryngo.in) is a non-profit working at the grassroots level for social development β focusing on education, hygiene awareness, environmental sustainability, and community engagement. What makes them different is they don't just show up once and leave. They build real, consistent relationships with underserved communities over time, and you genuinely feel that trust the moment you're on the ground with them.
MY EXPERIENCE I was involved in community awareness campaigns, educational sessions with underprivileged children, and online outreach initiatives. Each part taught me something different. The awareness sessions pushed me the most β getting people from completely different backgrounds to actually engage, not just nod politely-It's is harder than it sounds. There's a language gap, a trust gap, and sometimes just a tiredness gap. I had to figure out how to actually connect with people in real time, and honestly that alone was worth the entire experience. The educational work hit differently too. Seeing the gap in opportunity and confidence among children firsthand β it wasn't something I could unsee. It made everything feel very real, very fast.
WHAT I TOOK AWAY Social issues are layered β there's no quick fix and no single solution. Communication matters way more than I thought. Teamwork in this kind of work means real accountability, not just cooperation. And my whole idea of social service completely changed β it's not casual volunteering, it's structured, strategic, and genuinely demanding work that deserves to be taken seriously.
CONCLUSION I came into this internship with low expectations and left genuinely grateful. My time with TRY NGO was uncomfortable in the best way β it pushed me into situations I wasn't prepared for and made me better because of it.
