THIS WOMAN I KNOW, her name is Margeaux.  She is a queer feminist, educator, public speaker, writer, and community-builder.  She is also a very optimistic and passionate person who does not hide her emotions.  

She stresses the importance in her classrooms and workshops of letting go of the need to pretend we understand and know everything.  She believes that any attempt to perform mastery is in direct conflict with community-building and can often be oppressive and silencing.  Through her teachings and her blog www.floralmanifesto.com, she tries to foster conversations that are supportive and non-judgmental where we can admit our failures and talk about how we can do better.  When discussing how to be a better ally, she often offers examples from her own life in which she has failed.   There is also a section on her blog called “The Bossy List,” which is a directory for women-identified, trans, and non-binary folks who are their own bosses in some way, shape, or form. She created this section out of a desire to be more conscious about who she is supporting in a capitalist world.

For the first time in over five years, we have a two-part episode on Revision Path, and it’s with the one and only Rebecca Brooker. She is perhaps most well known as the co-founder of Queer Design Club, but Rebecca is also an art director at Ghost Note Agency and founder of her own freelance practice Planthouse Studio.

In the first part of this interview, Rebecca talked about her “year of hustle”, including her work at Ghost Note Agency and the rewards and challenges that come with that. She also talked about growing up in Trinidad, LGBT representation in the Caribbean, and moving to NYC to attend college and study design.
