Never did I think a common reed would be so picturesque. You see them all over the place, blowing in the light breeze, but never think to stop and take a picture of them. . By simply shooting them from below, and pointing slightly upward, I was able to get the contrasting blue sky in the background to make for a refreshingly summer-like feel to this photo that I took in the middle of winter. .
