When New Gal and I were talking today near the end of the day she mentioned she had lived in Oklahoma and did not like it. But whenever the state comes up, I go back to this song in my head.
I don't know if Common Rotation is still an active band. I got to meet them at my first ever con, which was a Buffy The Vampire con held in Detroit (Motor City Buffy Con 2005!)
Anyway, one of the bad guys in the show, Adam Busch, formed this band with a high school buddy. TMBG is credited on the EP and they even opened for them the year before this which I think was one of the few times I missed TMBG when I lived in the mitten. I even got into a conversation with Adam Busch about that at the con.
He is singing lead on this one. Very different style than They Might Be Giants. This is very folk-rock and at times, very folk-pop. They put on a really good show.
Oh and this is Adam Busch's character in BtVS.
What was funny about that con was that SO MANY PEOPLE could not separate the fact that the actor was not the twisted character on the show. He just portrayed him. I got many funny looks. As in, "He killed Tara. Why are you talking to him??"
