Hello, all!
We at @hanleiasecretsanta are asking you to join us and be a voter.
We are not telling you who or what to vote for. But we are asking that ALL of our eligible followers and participants, wherever you live, register and vote in your local and national elections.
Voting is your right.
Not everyone has the right or ability to vote. Vote for those who don't. Donāt forget that others have made sacrifices so that you could vote today.
Your vote matters.
Votes decide real policies that affect real peopleās lives. Some of the most recent elections have been decided on a razor thin margin. Your vote really does make a difference.
Your vote shapes your local community.
We donāt just vote for the leaders of our countries. We vote for who is in charge of our local schools, our local towns, and so on. These races can be especially close. You can have a direct impact on where you live. Local politicians are also easier to access and responsive to citizen concerns. Local politicians also become state politicians become national politicians. You can shape who rises by voting.
We live in a global society.
Even if we live in different countries, your vote affects me. My vote affects you. And you can't get out of this one by not voting because-
Elections are decided by who shows up to vote.
We all play a role in the outcome of each election. If we all vote, those in office are accountable to all of us and not just to a few. If we stay home, we let a few people make decisions for the rest of us. Those arenāt usually the people who have our best interests at heart.
Voting is an important tool for building the world we want to see. So is getting your friends and family to vote. By voting yourself, you make it more likely that they will too.
If you live in the U.S.
There is an an election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Go to vote.org to register or to ensure you are still registered to vote. Many states require you to register days or weeks before election day. Donāt wait. Register today.
Do not assume you are registered to vote in this election because you have voted in the past; voter rolls are sometimes updated without your knowledge. Check today. Help your friends and relatives check their registration too.
Use vote.org to make your voting plan today. (U.S.)
A voting plan includes how youāll vote, when youāll vote, where youāll vote, what youāll need to vote (ID, a ride, to request a ballot, childcare, etc.) and who youāll bring to vote.
You can vote by mail, in-person during early voting, or in-person on election day. Planning now will ensure that you meet deadlines and don't miss your chance to make your voice heard.
If you plan on voting by mail, request your ballot as soon as possible- today if you can. The Postal Service is experiencing delays. It's vital that you receive your ballot on time and can return it on time. Once again, see vote.orgĀ for more information.
If you are planning on voting in person and you can do so, please vote early. Voting early will reduce lines and crowding on Election Day. It will also give youĀ āwiggle room,ā so if something prevents you from voting when you planned, you have another chance.
If you live in the U.S. and need assistance figuring out whether you are eligible to vote, how to vote, problem-solving barriers to voting, and so on, and you have not been successful using vote.org, @graciecatfamilyband is volunteering to help. Contact her. (No hate or political arguments, please. Sheās just here to help get out the vote and to help you exercise your right. Preference given to followers of/participants in this blog and mutuals of HanLeia mods.)
If you live outside of the U.S.
Here are some links to register to vote. If you want additional links added, message us and weād be happy to include them! If there are upcoming elections you want us to highlight, please do the same. We are also interested in other countriesā Get Out the Vote efforts.

Vote. Bring friends. Do more than believe. Spread the word.
Be a voter. Find everything you need to vote in your state's next election.
VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!
We squeaked by in 2020, just enough to gain traction but not near steady yet.
This midterm election will appear in history books because of mass voter turnout and the impact made by an organized majority to shut down an extremist, destructive minority just in time to avert constitutional disaster.
The biggest issue most of us can agree on is the right to vote in America, so it's a timely topic to rally around for these last weeks before the November 8 Midterm election. SCOTUS has made clear the intention to take a controversial case in October's session (Moore v. Harper). If their current trajectory is allowed to continue, states will be enabled to present alternative electors, so say goodbye to a free and fair election in 2024, or ever again.
This is not a drill or chicken little or some dude crying wolf. It's truly a constitutional crisis and the only cure is getting ourselves and others to show up and vote for candidates who will not strip our rights away. Political party is irrelevant, know what these people stand for before you cast a mindless vote on party lines.
Ready to shift the rudder to the right side of history?
Verify your voter registration and help other voter outreach efforts (Check for deadline dates in your state, Indiana is October 11)
Vote and look for ways to help others find the time, means, transportation, etc. (By November 8, take advantage of early voting)
Spread the word, amplify to save voting rights!
