Anyone who was paying attention while the story was breaking should recall just how often Harper (and his mouthpieces when he chose not to face the House) changed the story - on Duffy, on Wright, on Wallin, even to a much lesser degree on Brazeau. Harper and the talking heads praised Duffy’s non-existent honesty, Wright’s “heroism” in “reimbursing the taxpayer on a friend’s behalf” - and who could forget “I’ve reviewed her (Wallin’s) expenses and they appear normal”. Harper’s not a really fluent liar - too repetitive and wooden - but he is a constant liar.
