Then who are they?
For a while, people speculated that the woman was Hyria, but that has long since been debunked. In the credits, it says “Their Daughter,” so we as a fandom pretty much all agree that this is the child of Irene and Shad. The one that Shad CONSTANTLY references in MCD S3, and we get brief mentions of in the flashbacks during WAF.
we as a fandom also agree that this woman is the original Irene. She has the cloak, it’s a deep royal blue, and she’s playing with the child that calls Shad “Daddy” and is named Their Daughter. It makes sense.
But Jason puts emphasis that these are two characters that we have NOT met yet. And while that may be true for Their Daughter, that’s not the case for Irene. We’ve met Irene. She’s had speaking parts, we’ve seen flashbacks, she’s talked to MCD Aphmau, we know her.
Does this debunk that? Is this not Irene? Or does he not count all those times we’ve seen her as meeting her?
