#MarchMeettheMaker Day 11 #LearningCurve There's been so many things I struggled to learn, had to practice daily, and finally mastered after years of effort. Teaching has definitely been a learning process. Rather than a Masters in Art Education, I hold a Masters in Fine Art-- I went to SCAD for comics. However, I'm from a family of teachers, and volunteered at my high school alma mater in undergrad, participated in Comics in the Curriculum and student taught at three schools during grad school, and have done workshops with libraries and conventions since. I taught comics through community ed for a year, alcohol marker classes with Plaza for almost as long, and just finished up an 8 week gig with a small, independent art school for kids here in Nashville. As I teach, I learn. More about art. More about how to teach. More about accomodating disabilities. More about accomodating my own #ADHD . More about how I want to run my own private art tutoring in the future. Its definitely been a challenge. There's still so many ways to grow. But I love helping others find their artistic side, and helping to nurture that. #art #arteducation #teachingartist #comicartist #artclasses #drawingclasses #comicclasses (at Nashville, Tennessee) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9pAeEJjH9b/?igshid=vc385h63f5nn
