originally from australia, moving to the complex in 2017 to pursue his career better! his name took off in the us because of the xgames and motocross stuff so he moved to the betterment of his financials and career advancement! but, he loves to surf and dive, but knew that his main career would focus on bikes and not the others! 

based on the show, his personality is sweet, caring, and definitely thoughtful despite his nonchalant absent minded attitude at times! he’s very curious and wont give up till he knows the facts behind whatever he’s snooping about (he’s not that nosy tho, don't worry). can be secretive and keep his word when he says he wont tell people! 

↘  tenant  file  loading …  meet  HOPPER  ,  JANE  (  ELEVEN  )  !  according  to  their  application  to  move  in  ,  she  resembles  maia  mitchell  closely  and  is  a  23  year  old  cis  female  who  first  rented  their  apartment  in  the  year  of  2017  .  if  what  neighbors  are  saying  is  true ,  they  appear  to  struggle  with  being  sequestered  ,  though  excel  at  being  staunch ,  so  maybe  that’s  why  they  became  a  ballet  instructor  .  i  usually  see  them  around  collecting  an  eclectic  selection  of  ‘80s - inspired  scrunchies  !

early  years  are  incredibly  tough  for  eleven  ,  or  jane  (  as  she  comes  to  call  herself  after  a  heartbreaking  but  necessary  move  )  .  she  won’t  talk  about  much  of  it  ,  will  outright  refuse  to  go  into  anything  that  happened  to  her  before  she  turned  sixteen  .  the  loss  of  a  father  will  do  that  to  you   ---   hopper  was  an  adopted  father  and  the  best  person  she’s  ever  known  ,  a  lifeline  that  proved  necessary  after  the  trauma  of  her  childhood  .  losing  him  was  something  that  cut  straight  to  the  bone  ,  something  that  burnt  an  irreparable  hole  into  the  very  fabric  of  her  being  .  it’s  shortly  after  that  particular  loss  that  she  hitches  her  wagon  to  the  byers’  (  invitation  offered  by  joyce  ,  of  course  )  and  leaves  her  hometown  of  hawkins  to  stretch  her  legs  in  new  york  .  the  timing  just  seems  right   ---   they’re  leaving  anyway  (  jonathan’s  acceptance  to  nyu  couldn’t  have  come  at  a  better  time  )  ,  she  needed  to  break  away  from  a  town  that  held  nothing  but  bad  memories  and  trauma   ;   and  the  thing  is  ,  despite  the  burning  desire  to  leave  it  behind  ,  it’s  a  hard  move  .  it  means  saying  goodbye  to  the  only  group  of  friends  she’s  ever  known  ,  leaving  someone  she  loves  (  and  she  still  carries  mike’s  photo  in  her  wallet  ,  all  scrawny  and  prepubescent  and  cut  out  of  a  fucking  yearbook  )  .  it  means  leaving  her  best  friends  ,  the  only  family  she’s  ever  known  ,  and  it  stings  like  hell  .

new  york  is  enormous  ,  almost  too  big   ---   it’s  terrifying  for  a  fourteen - year - old  already  unsure  of  her  own  identity  .  she  aches  for  home  ,  to  run  to  the  comfort  of  everything  she’s  ever  known  but  joyce  makes  something  special  out  of  the  byers’  apartment  .  she  and  will  share  a  bedroom  ,  bunk  beds  found  on  craigslist  (  and  it’s  the  best  thing  in  the  world  /  she’ll  catch  will  sniffling  in  the  middle  of  the  night  ,  wrap  tight  arms  around  him  ,  let  him  cry  with  the  knowledge  that  tomorrow  night  he’ll  return  the  favour  )  .  jonathan  comes  home  on  weekends  ,  sleeps  on  the  couch  and  brings  tales  of  classes  .  it’s  a  fully - formed  ecosystem  ,  comfortable  in  the  way  they  all  have  their  roles   ;   jane  (  now  formally  known  as  jane  joyce  hopper  ,  but  still  called  el  between  family  and  friends  )  learns  to  cook  and  studies  from  home  ,  gets  herself  up  to  speed  so  that  she  can  enrol  in  high  school  when  she  turns  fifteen  .  will  goes  to  school  ,  teaches  the  family  new  board  games  and  card  games  for  the  long  evenings  when  the  electricity  goes  out  .  joyce  works  two  jobs  ,  pinched  around  the  eyes  but  always  with  a  warm  heart  and  a  kind  word  .  they  work  it  out  ,  learn  to  live  in  a  new  world  that  seems  cold  and  aloof   ;   they  make  their  dingy  little  apartment  home  ,  and  it’s  wonderful  .

life  progresses  ,  and  slowly  the  broken  shards  that  exist  within  jane’s  chest  begin  to  heal  .  she  reads  hopper’s  letter  like  a  religion  ,  texts  her  friends  regularly  ,  has  long  phone  calls  with  the  party  ,  cries  over  it  but  laughs  too  ,  the  deep  kind  of  belly  laugh  she  hasn’t  known  for  a  while  .  she  learns  to  heal   ---   takes  up  ballet  and  yoga  ,  learns  to  knit  .  her  knitting  is  unsuccessful  but  the  dancing  and  the  yoga  take  off   ;   she  channels  the  hurt  and  the  trauma  and  the  pain  into  movement  ,  and  she  develops  into  a  beautiful  dancer  .  climbs  the  ranks  at  her  local  company  ,  en  pointe  before  she  knows  it  ,  dancing  in  her  first  show  as  a  lead  dancer  before  she’s  eighteen  .  the  party  makes  it  to  new  york  for  it  ,  as  do  her  family   ;   she  cries  on  stage  ,  but  it’s  happiness  that  overwhelms  her  .

she  finally  ,  finally  moves  away  from  home  at  twenty - one  .  she  packs  her  little  life  ,  all  the  wrecked  and  bloody  pointe  shoes  and  the  records  and  the  thumbed  comics  ,  into  a  few  boxes  that  fit  in  the  back  of  the  car  she  bought  with  the  money  earned  from  a  shitty  job  .  her  new  apartment  isn’t  far  from  the  family  home  ,  but  closer  to  her  studio  (  she  teaches  now  /  alternates  between  teaching  yoga  and  ballet  ,  loves  both  with  her  whole  heart  )  .  she’s  got  a  tendency  to  shut  herself  in  ,  to  isolate  herself  but  she’s  doing  her  best  to  open  her  heart  ,  to  work  through  the  residual  hurt  she  still  feels  .  she’s  doing  the  best  she  can  ,  and  that’s  all  she  can  do  .

↘  tenant  file  loading  …  meet  GILMORE  ,  RORY  !  according  to  their  application  to  move  in  ,  she  resembles  natalia  dyer  closely  and  is  a  22  year  old  cis  female  who  first  rented  their  apartment  in  the  year  of  2019  .  if  what  neighbors  are  saying  is  true ,  they  appear  to  struggle  with  being  persnickety  ,  though  excel  at  being  assiduous ,  so  maybe  that’s  why  they  became  a  journalism  student  .  i  usually  see  them  around  poring  over  a  growing  stack  of  textbooks  with  a  pencil  tucked  behind  her  ear  !

lorelai  leigh  gilmore  ,  affectionaly  nicknamed  rory  at  an  extremely  young  age  ,  grows  up  in  a  world  that  almost  doesn’t  seem  real   ---   full  of  books  and  music  and  fun  and  laughter  ,  so  much  that  it  leaves  the  belly  aching  and  the  eyes  glazed  with  tears  of  sheer  mirth  !  it’s  all  spearheaded  by  a  rambunctious  ,  loving  mother  who  becomes  a  best  friend  first  and  a  mother  second  ,  indulgent  to  a  fault  ,  protective  and  wonderful  and  joyous  !  her  early  years  are  characterised  by  a  rotating  cast  of  eclectic  characters  that  dote  on  her  ,  a  found  family  of  townsfolk   ---   and  it’s  true  ,  it  does  take  a  village  to  raise  a  child  .  there  is  a  glaring  absence  in  all  of  this  ,  namely  any  familial  connections  outside  of  her  mother   ;   father  ,  christopher  ,  is  a  lackadaisal  figure  who  darts  in  and  out  at  the  blink  of  an  eye  ,  leaves  infrequent  voicemails  and  doesn’t  reply  to  letters  .  grandparents  are  visited  at  holidays  ,  and  unwillingly  at  that  .  there’s  an  undeniable  tension  ,  two  warring  sects  of  the  same  family  .

education  plays  a  major  role  in  the  unfolding  diagram  of  her  life   ---   always  the  brightest  ,  always  with  her  nose  stuck  in  a  book  ;  hands  in  homework  days  early  ,  always  answers  teacher’s  questions  .  she’s  star’s  hollow’s  brightest  pupil  ,  until  the  letter  arrives   ---   chilton  has  a  place  and  a  tartan  skirt  with  her  name  on  it  .  the  switch  is  sudden  ,  resisted  at  first  (  oh  ,  there’s  nothing  like  the  sweet  scent  of  young  love  to  throw  a  spanner  in  the  works  )  and  it  comes  at  a  cost   ---   friday  nights  are  now  to  be  spent  at  the  grandparents’  house  in  hartford  ,  a  weekly  dinner  used  as  a  bargaining  chip  .  it’s  a  small  price  to  pay  for  a  dream  school  ,  rory  thinks  .

except  that  the  dream  doesn’t  seem  quite  as  pleasant  when  the  first  week  rolls  around  and  there’s  already  targets  on  her  back  ,  nicknames  thrown  and  enemies  made  before  she  even  has  a  chance  to  open  her  mouth  .  it’s  a  harsh  adjustment  (  includes  getting  hit  by  a  deer  ,  no  less  )  and  it’s  painful  but  slowly  ,  surely  she  feels  her  way  around  .  it  might  be  at  the  rate  of  treacle  but  friendships  are  begrudgingly  developed  (  paris  geller  proves  a  challenge  but  it  all  pays  off  )  and  by  the  time  she  graduates  ,  she’s  valedictorian  .  well - respected  ,  loved  and  admired   ;   set  for  harvard  ,  despite  applications  to  other  universities   ---   it’s  harvard  all  the  way  ,  baby  .

it’s  always  been  harvard  ,  for  as  long  as  she  can  remember  .  college  merchandise  has  crowded  a  corkboard  for  years  ,  she  collects  their  pamphlets  religiously   ;   richard  isn’t  pleased  by  the  prospect  ,  pushes  her  continuously  towards  yale  ,  but  it’s  harvard  .  always  was  going  to  be  harvard  ,  until  it  isn’t  anymore  .

when  acceptance  letters  arrive  ,  there  isn’t  an  ivy  league  that  hasn’t  practically  begged  her  to  go  .  she’s  drawn  up  lists  (  pros  and  cons  for  just  about  all  of  them  )  ,  and  she’s  moments  away  from  saying  yes  before  something  ,  something  changes  her  mind   ;   at  the  eleventh  hour  ,  rory  throws  caution  to  the  wind  and  accepts  an  offer  from  columbia  .  naturally  ,  lorelai’s  gobsmacked  (  speechless  ,  for  once  in  a  garrulous  lifetime  )  but  supportive  .  a  small  car  (  a  birthday  present  from  the  grandparents  ,  insistent  that  she  have  something  nice  to  drive  )  is  slowly  filled  and  before  long  ,  she’s  trundling  her  way  towards  new  york  city  ,  towards  the  promise  of  something  new  and  glittering  and  exciting  .

she  lives  on  campus  for  a  while  ,  gets  the  university  feel   ---   ends  up  with  a  truly  questionable  selection  of  roommates  ,  travels  back  and  forth  ,  falls  in  love  with  university  and  learning  all  over  again  .  she  learns  to  be  on  her  own  ,  learns  that  she  doesn’t  mind  it  but  there’s  something  to  be  said  for  movie  nights  on  the  well - worn  gilmore  couch  ,  to  pulling  up  at  the  family  home  with  a  big  grin  and  two  cups  of  luke’s  world - famous  brew  in  hand  .

late  last  year  ,  she  decides  that  on - campus  living  has  run  its  course  ,  and  applies  for  her  own  apartment  .  the  move  is  quick  ,  and  it’s  wonderful   ---   she  slowly  fills  it  with  her  records  ,  her  neverending  collection  of  books  ,  of  the  things  she  treasures  the  most  .  she  makes  it  her  own  space  like  nothing  else  ,  and  before  long  the  whole  place  is  damn - near  crowded  with  her  collections  of  belongings  .  it  feels  warm  ,  inviting  ,  lived - in   ;   lorelai  loves  it  when  she  comes  to  visit  .  once  again  ,  she’s  learning  how  to  navigate  the  world   ---   last  year  of  university  is  drawing  to  an  inevitable  close  ,  and  the  world  is  a  reckless  place  .  

so, basically she comes from a wealthy family who she’s had problems with in her past aka why she lives in the complex! they didn't cut her off or anything, but she wanted her own freedom so she bounced from under their roof!

she went to college, for a little, but ended up dropping out once her instagram influencing took off around 2018! she was in school for public relations, so she’s sort of on the same track! she has roughly 3.2 million followers on instagram! she doesn't have the picture perfect reputation thanks to her family being low-key famous around new york so she is used to paparazzi photos, etc. 

she’s basically has serena’s personality of being a fun-loving, sassy (sometimes) little thing! very trusting, charming, in the lead of things but has commitment issues because of her mom! she can be somewhat irresponsible! 

↘  tenant  file  loading …  meet  MOSBY  ,  TED   !  according  to  their  application  to  move  in  ,  he  resembles  matthew daddario  closely  and  is  a  27  year  old  cismale  who  first  rented  their  apartment  in  the  year  of  2017  .  if  what  neighbors  are  saying  is  true ,  they  appear  to  struggle  with  being  pretentious  ,  though  excel  at  being  devoted ,  so  maybe  that’s  why  they  became  an  architect  .  i  usually  see  them  around giving architecture ‘fun facts’ to random passerbys  ! 

theodore ‘ted’ (evelyn, if ya nasty) mosby is the definition of a hopeless romantic. from his life ambitions to the way he sees the world, it’s all in greater pursuit of one thing - beauty. 

born in cleveland, ohio, ted would tell you that the renaissance of his life didn’t truly happen until he started his freshman year at wesleyan university. it was there that he not only met two of his best friends, but also developed his love of architecture. 

after getting his degree, ted and his two best friends moved to chicago, il and got an apartment together. he quickly found a job in an architecture firm downtown and although his boss is certifiably insane (i’m thinking hammond druthers if you watch the show!!) it’s steady work while he gains the confidence + connections to start his own firm. 

most of the time, you can find ted in the bar after work, shooting the shit and drinking with his close friends - telling them all about the crazy thing his boss did that day, or what girl he’s currently calling ‘the future mrs. ted mosby.’ 

as for his personality, ted prides himself on his intelligence. he loves architecture, books, poetry, and foreign films - and he can get a little bit pretentious and judgmental of those who can’t hold an ‘intelligent conversation’ with him. (luckily his bffs keep him grounded most of the time) he’s also extremely loyal - almost to a fault. once he loves you, he loves you for life and he’ll do anything for you. and that doesn’t just stop at people - he’s been using the same brand of shampoo for years, and refuses to buy anything else. honestly, the poster-child of a taurus.
