Team work: -return fire and take cover -stop the bleed when itβs tactically sounds -stay in the fight βββββββββββββββββββββββ- Prepping your Gear: - have your medical gear on your persons and staged ready for deployment (that includes not having the time tab across the windlass catchπ) - proper training is key! Get some! Thanks @policeposts βββββββββββββββββββββββ Application of TQ: -High and tight; turn windlass until bleeding is controlled. If bleeding is not controlled then add an additional TQ. - officer was able to move his leg. If he wasnβt able to, opening up the TQ would be a faster option. It also will reduce the friction and snagging from cloths, different types of flooring, etc. - arterial blood is bright red because itβs oxygenated. An arterial bleed maybe pulsing and/or spitting. -when in doubt TQ OUTβπ» - this doesnβt look at an arterial bleed but officers played it safe. - if the injured can apply self aid then allow them too. If they need assistance then help when tactically sound. Stay in the fight. ββββββββββββββββββββββ- Types of TQ: - I prefer the CAT but I also carry a SOFT-T. They both have their advantages/disadvantages but they are both proven and data backed. βββββββββββββββββββββββ Officers remained calm and did a fantastic jobπΊπΈβββββββββββββββββββββββ #brotherinblue #tbl #thinblueline #thinbluelinefamily #sheriff #sheriffdeputy #leo #lawenforcement #police #policepostsfitness #policeposts #cops #bjj #swat #family #respect #πΊπΈAF #tactmed #combateffective #fitness #readyglove #effectivefitness *for educational and training purposes* @policepostsfitness @policepostsllc @fearthek9 @odin_medical @corpsman_ @temple_indexing_mofo @northamericanrescue https://www.instagram.com/p/BntJbDonXqw/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=dh7tg1i8egks
