the demons in my brain: what if i ALSO played colosseum but i caught every shadow pokemon in a premier ball and WITHOUT the infinite ball glitch
for the first time in a few years, i’m doing safari week! really happy to be back. just ended my session for tonight (this picture is from yesterday but still) at 4500 encounters… out of the ones i’ve counted anyway. my first session after midnight on the 17th wasn’t counted at all. so i’m probably over 5k. and our girlfriend is participating for the first time and they’ve done around 880 encounters so we’re making good progress!
that pikachu plush is holding up my ds lite because i’m using the one with the broken hinge. our girlfriend is borrowing our ds lite with the functioning hinge
anyway tonight our girlfriend hunted for a while but then continued their first colosseum playthrough, so i had that RNG mess as entertainment while i hunted. finally put the setup away and we’re leaving the wii on to purify shadow pokemon with the infinite walking exploit tonight
i am about to play more octopath traveller because them playing colosseum was a trade. but i’m not complaining because octopath is very fun
i beat pyrite colosseum and was really sleepy during it and then fell asleep on my gf’s lap on the couch oops
well i’m awake again after that power nap. i only snagged 3 shadows so far, makuhita because i wasn’t sure if it was required to continue but it’s easy to catch anyway, croconaw because i wanted to take the mystic water off of it, and quagsire because i want to actually use quagsire on the team. i did end up getting a modest espeon after resetting for a little while so i’m having an okay time
i don’t want to evolve any shadows because i want this to be a little premier ball collection to ogle at in my PC or whatever, all in their original evolution stages. so i’m not using anything unevolved because that’s like shooting myself in the foot. and since i only have so much money, i’m saving premier balls for catching entei/raikou (idk if i’ll go for suicune yet i have quagsire) and uhh i’m not sure what my last team slot will be yet lol. but yea i’ll catch most of them in the postgame when it’s easier to get premier balls and money tbh

i was about to make a joke post like “wes and rui are the only straight people in pokemon” but then i had a vision for transfem wlw wes. kind of out of spite for some of the weird early 2000s sexist writing present in colosseum. wes is told multiple times to Be A Man and girls flirt with him and etc idfk it’s honestly weird for a pokemon game even considering some of the other questionable dialogue in early pokemon games. he is also in a situation where he was a criminal but turned his back on the organization and yet he still uses violent means as a way to get the good end result he wants. and others perceive that as his Strong Masculine Energy and shit like that. rui is cast aside into the gentle cares about pokemon role while wes does all the dirty work. so like what if he confronted his internalized toxic masculinity bullshit and came out the other side realizing he’s actually a woman. what if transitioning helped him (well her in this case) come to terms with her past and get in touch with the parts of her she hid behind the tough face she had to put on while dealing with, you know, terrorism. i’m like invested in this now wtf THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SHITPOST THOUGHT
