Hello!

To be honest, I didn’t know it was this bad, either.  This only came to my attention today and it breaks my heart and makes me sick to think that there are people out there saying and doing these sorts of things, especially in a fandom that embodies inclusivity and universality like the Trek fandom does.

Aside from blocking the users responsible, not replying to Anon hate, and spreading kindness, there isn’t much TO do.  It’s out of our hands as a fandom at large and the fates of these individuals, as I understand it, now rests with the police department and Tumblr staff.

As for the rest of us, just keep doing what we’ve always done - be kind to one another and support each other!  Perhaps it’s naive or cheesy of me, but I honestly think that love always wins in the end.  All I can say now is this:

I dare [us] to do better.

So long as your blog is a safe space and you practice kindness, you’re already doing a great job. :)

yeah my roommate was rlly hyped abt it but imho it when a lot harder on the Conservative Bigot Parents angle than the Cute Holiday Movie angle. which is like fine but ive seen enough Gay Trauma movies that im not exactly chomping at the bit for another one just bc its ~christmas themed~

WORD. I get the gist that scott's just...not very well liked by more people? Like it's an actual phenomenon to not like scott summers? Which tells you a lot.

He's...so boring? Like the most boring Summers ever? I'd give my left arm for a cable movie.
