Tabitha Meyer is nineteen years old and a Freshman at Rosewood University.
Katherine and Nicholas were madly in love. He was fourteen and she was twelve when they first met, and very quickly they had become best friends. But over the years, their feelings for each other developed, and on Katherineâs sixteenth birthday they shared their very first kiss. It was magical, and sure enough, one thing led to another. They had been young though, and in their naivety, they forgot to use protection. Thus, nine months later, Katherine gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Tabitha Ashley Meyer. Of course, at just sixteen years old and a mother, Katherineâs own parents were far from overjoyed with the new baby, but Nicholasâ parents had been much more understanding, and allowed the young couple to move in with them. It was a struggle, trying to look after a baby and balance education, but both were keen to push through, and to provide their baby with the best life possible. Nicholas majored in business, and Katherine finished her high school education with the help of the grandparents. Tabitha was practically raised by Nanna Jean and Grandpa Joe, and around the age of five it became clear she was more dependent on them. At this point though, it was time to move out. Nicholas had got a huge break in the advertisement industry, and was making enough money for his family to get a decent place of their own. Tabitha finally had her own bedroom, and they could afford childcare, to allow Katherine to go and get her own degree â she majored in politics. Most of Tabithaâs early memories didnât include either of her parents. Sure, they always sat down to have their Sunday meal together, but for the most part she was being shared between a nanny, or her grandparents. She would never complain about it though. As much as she may wish to have been able to spend more time with her parents, her mother in particular, she always knew they were doing the very best for her. When Christmas and her birthday came around, she was showered with gifts, and she very quickly understood the reason she had all this nice stuff was because of the hard work her parents did. When Tabitha turned twelve, she had a big birthday party, inviting all her friends from school, and from her extracurriculars, including gardening club, dance class, and swimming class. All but one of the children attending were female. Her parents, when they saw this one boy amongst all the girls for the first time, looked at each other with pure fear in their eyes. Katherine was reminded of her and her husband â how things had been completely innocent at first, but then progressed to something that had led to a baby. After her party, they sat Tabitha down, and told her to stay away from that boy. Boys were bad, and even if Joshua seemed lovely, he was bad too. Of course, with her parents hardly ever around to witness her spending time with her new-found best friend, Tabitha ignored them. She regularly spoke to Josh and found they had a lot in common other than swimming. He liked to paint, whilst she liked to write stories. As the years went by, they had worked together on multiple pieces â sometimes he would give her a painting and ask her to bring it to life with words, sometimes she would write an extract and ask him to help her visualise the story. Their friendship was beautiful. That was, until one evening, when everything was turned upside down. Joshua had come over to ask her opinion on a piece that was being showcased at the school art fair. Tabitha was completely in awe of it, finding that he had painted her. The number of hours he must have studied her, to get each feature perfect, was astonishing, and she was lost for words. Searching his eyes, Tabitha wished the right words would come to her, so she could thank him properly for conveying her in such a beautiful way. Before she could say anything though, he was kissing her, and butterflies swarmed her stomach. After the initial shock had passed, she found she was kissing him back, as she realised her feelings for him had most definitely changed from friendship, to being someone she was falling for. It was the first kiss of her dreams, nothing awkward about it. That was, until her mother walked in. She was mortified, and threw Joshua out instantly. Her daughter, who she had thought she had done so much to protect from making the same mistake she did, was hidden in her room with the boy she specifically said wasnât allowed to hang around her. It was then that Katherine consulted Nicholas, and they made the snap decision to up and move. That wasnât the only bombshell they dropped on their daughter either. Katherine was pregnant with her second child â this time, her and her husband were ready for a baby, ready to extend their family. The move wasnât easy, but the goodbye to Joshua was the hardest. Their love had been ended before it truly had a chance to blossom, and Tabitha had never felt so much hatred for her parents in her life. How could they do this to her? They were hardly ever around to show her love and affection, and now they had taken away one person who could offer her that. Greensville seemed like the perfect town to move to, and when Katherine and Nicholas found the house of their dreams, the instantly began to move their family over there. Tabithaâs baby sister, Scarlett, was born three months before they officially moved in, and to an outsider, they looked like the perfect family. Tabitha was set to start at Rosewood in the fall, Katherine was taking time off work to raise Scarlett herself, and Nicholas was still able to get to his job from the new home. It was just a shame that their eldest daughter was still feeling bitter about the move. And on top of that, she was jealous of the baby. Why did her mother decide to take time off for Scarlett, but had not once done that for her? To make matters worse, her parents had decided they wanted to try for one more child, so that Scarlett would be able to grow up with a sibling close in age, and whilst they were off on date night, Tabitha was left looking after the baby. All the blonde could hope was that the people of Greensville would be welcoming, and she could make some friends that helped her get away from family life for a little while.
