The energy and excitement flowing throughout the campus was immeasurable these past couple of days since the football announcement of your college playing against its rival. Everyone is so hyped up, tickets were literally sold out within two days, and undoubtedly a lot of confident spouts among the students about how your college was going to win. The boys were unsurprisingly pumped as this was going to be their first season in the games. They were telling you about it even before the announcement was officially made. You couldnât be any happier for them. They really worked hard this entire semester despite dealing with excruciating long lectures, endless exams, practices, and studying. Each and everyone of them earned their spots on their team. You were of course just as overjoyed as your classmates, but the thing was, you're not going to be there supporting your collegeâs team. And nobody knows that. No one, not even your closest friends know about this betrayal. You still love your collegeâs team, it's just that you have more connections to the rival team.Â
Youâve been a fan of their team ever since you were a little girl and watched the games on tv as well as in person with your family. It's also the same college your dad graduated from, therefore you would always be updated with the latest news of what is going on between scores. Nerves were tingling as the days went by. The boys were play-fighting more often as they continued exchanging insults towards the other team in a sportful way. You just sit in the middle of their couch enjoying your favorite beverage before they all turn their attention to you. âHey, youâll be at the games right, Y/N?â Seth asked excitedly, sitting next to you with his eyes glowing so bright you almost went blind. You took an extra few seconds longer to part from your drink as you pulled out a smile. âYeah, of course Iâll be there, I wouldnât miss it!â Hearing that answer, that got all the boys to start hugging you and some teasing going around about how youâll be cheering for them in the stadium.Â
âSay, if youâre not doing anything tomorrow, wanna stop by and watch us practice?â Jared asked, before stuffing his mouth with a bag of chips. âSure why not? What time?âÂ
âThree in the afternoon.â Embry responded, he pulled out his phone to double check and thankfully he was correct. You smile slightly dropped, âOh umm at three? Maybe? Iâll see heheâ Great! At three?! That was when you were going to see your team practice. The boys all gave each other curious gazes before pointing their attention back at you. âI thought you had nothing going on tomorrow?â Quil poked at you curiously. âWell I forgot I had a meeting with an old acquaintance.â Your sweating bullets and the boy could sense something was off. âAlright, what are you hiding?â Jake says as he raises a brow.Â
âNothing.â You tried sounding calm as possible but with six jocks staring at you intently would make anyone start shaking nervously. âYeah right, spit it out!â Embry leans his body weight on the couch. âReally, Iâm not!â It was clear no one believed your bluff. âWell then⌠I guess you're not leaving till you tell us!â Paul announced as he put his entire body weight on you. âOh my god! Get off me, Lahote! You're heavy!â He just laughs at your dramatic antics. âGuys come on, I really do have nothing to hide!â Unsatisfied with your answer, Paul stayed where he was anchoring you from escaping, the guys just sat around the couch and started playing a movie. As you sit there losing circulation in your legs, your phone starts buzzing. Unfortunately, you couldnât see who it was due to Paul still comfortably laying on your lap. âCan you get off now?â You groaned tiredly. âNope.âÂ
âSeth, can you pass me my phone?â You begged and the boy relented only to have the device snatched out his hands. âOoh whoâs texting you at this late hour? You got a boyfriend we all donât know about?â Jared joked as he turned the screen over to look at the name of the person. âPretty Boy?!â He screamed, baffled that you would have someone under that nickname. âDamn?! Who is he?â Jake pressed on with the question. âIâm not telling!â You crossed your arms over your chest as you turned to look the other way. Right in that perfect moment, your savior has arrived. âWhatâs going on? What are you boys doing?!â Oh how you are happy to hear that familiar authoritative tone.Â
âSam! Please help!â You cried out. âPaul, get off her. And what are you guys doing fooling around at this hour when we have a big game in the next three days?â Saddened but obeying, Paul parted ways with your lap. âI think I should get going!â You declared, only to nearly fall to the ground from the lack of blood flow in your legs. âWoah there! I gotcha!â Seth assured. âThank you!â After a few minutes, you dashed out of their dorm to get back to yours. As you made it into your door, your phone buzzed. It was Jake. âThis isnât over yet!â You read, you shook your head. What a bunch of knuckleheads? Well they were only half correct. Pretty boy was Silas Moore, the star and lead player of your favorite team. His skills, sportsmanship, and personality are the best of the best has ever seen. Youâve only ever met him three times out of the semester (thanks to your dadâs connections) but he still gave you his contact. His teammates teased him about him having no one supporting him which was shut down after you fiery told them that youâll be there for him. A bunch of good hearty laughs came out of that.Â
As you were lost in thought, thinking back about those precious encounters, your phone was buzzing you back into reality. âHmm? OH SHIT! H-Hello?â You answered, holding the phone closely to your ear. âHey, is everything alright? Just wanted to make sure you can make it to our practice tomorrow? If youâre still down, I can come pick you up. Just let me know what time I can come around?â Your brain malfunctioned for a second. âYeah of course! Ummm I guess⌠two in the afternoon. Oh wait! I forgot but umm donât park your car in front of my campus. Just park three blocks away and text me when youâre here! Iâll come over as soon as I can! But thank you, Silas!â You finally let out that breath as you heard him chuckling in amusement. âAlrighty, Y/N. Sleep tight. Bye!â Then he hung up.Â
Now youâre just rushing to get into your bathroom to prepare for bed knowing that if you donât wake up early the boys would definitely come looking for you. Rejuvenated and refreshed, you hit the bed with alarms all set. It felt like an eternity before you heard the first alarm go off, you immediately sprang into action to get yourself ready. Less than ten minutes later, you were locking your door and running out of your dorm. Before completely leaving campus grounds you sent the guys a text. âHey Iâm not going to be on campus today. Feel free to update me with anything interesting! Love ya guys!âÂ
At last, two oâclock finally hit, Silas was calling you. âHey where are you at?â You asked. He got out of his car to wave at you. There he was. You ran to him with caution across the street to greet him and he excitedly greeted you back. Soon the two of you got into his car and drove off. It was a matter of minutes when you guys stopped at a fast food chain, âSorry, gotta get the guys some food.âÂ
âNo worries, I can wait in the car.â He fashioned an apologetic smile as he ran into the restaurant hoping to make this a quick stop. Right as you sat in his car, you couldnât help eyeing every car that was driving in and out of the parking lot. And what luck do you have to spot Jakeâs freakin pickup truck with all the boys inside. âSeriously?!â You started reclining your chair as low as you could. Thankfully, due to where Silas parked, they couldnât really see you. They all energetically walked their way to the door as loud as they typically are. While waiting for the coast to be clear, Silas returned with bags of food to find you in this odd manner. âIâm sorry it t-ook so long? Is everything okay?â He asked while putting the bags in the back seats. âYeah! Yeah totally fine!â You start to bring the chair back to where it was originally as the ignition started again.Â
As he was pulling out, you saw Quil running out obnoxiously to then hop into the back of the truck to get his sweater. Luckily, you guys didnât make eye contact. So many close calls! âSo you're excited for the big game?â You asked but you knew his answer since heâs been talking about it ever since he got into the team. âHow could I not? This was a dream come true! Nothing better!â A few miles more and you made it to an enormous stadium. You got out of the car and helped him with the heavy bags even though he insisted that he can carry all of it by himself. But your stubbornness won in the end.Â
âAaay is that Y/N I see?â Daxton, Silasâs best man, chanted across the field. As close as you are to the boys, these guys are just as close even though you only ever hung out three times. âWoah! Long time no see, how ya doing?â Kylo cheered. They all stopped what they were doing to say hello. Their coach didnât mind since he was friendâs with your dad. âSo who are you going to root for during the games?â Fabien asked teasingly. âThe coyotes of course.â That was the answer he was expecting but it lacks energy. âIâm sorry you said what?â Fabien asked again, holding his hand near his ear to be extra dramatic. âTHE COYOTES!!â You screamed as loud and as passionate as they imagined. âHELL YEAH!! THATâS RIGHT THE COYOTES!!! WOO! WOO! WOO!!â This made the entire group start roaring, chanting their victory already like a bunch of kids. This is what you loved about the sport, not really about the teams, more about how connected everyone was.Â
âEnough lazing around, get back to practicing!â Their coach yelled as he clapped his hands. âGlad to see you again.â He tipped his baseball cap as he went to a different corner to supervise the other players. âWish me luck?â Silas jokes, with his gear and helmet on, off to the fields he goes to grab the ball.Â
Three days laterâŚÂ
Today was a big day. Everyoneâs rushing to the stadium to get into their seats with their sports attire, face paint, and chants ready to go. Before you headed to your seat, you had to go see your boys before they went out into the fields. âAwww look whoâs here?â Jared called out. All the boys turned their gazes to you. âY/N, YOU MADE IT!â Seth ran towards you to give you the warmest hug he can offer. âAlready here to congratulate us I see?â Paul asked playfully. You shook your head, âWell, weâll see about that.â Grinning evilly. âWhat, you donât think weâll win?â Embry says as he gets his gear better fitted. âLike I said weâll see.â With that, you wish them all luck and beg them to try not to get injured playing a game that will last for a short while. They didnât make any promises but they sure will try. Afterwards, you stormed to your lucky seat, a seat closest to the field to watch the players.Â
One by one the boys on each team got out jumping with anticipation as they looked out into the crowds cheering for them. The boy's smile soon turned into frowns of betrayal. There you were sitting on the side of the stadium, and worse wearing one of the enemyâs teams jerseys. An anvil crashed on top of all of them as they saw you cheering for the other team. The game was brutal, both teams were giving it more than a hundred percent. In the end the wolves lost to the coyotes by a point, the blow was devastating to your fellow campus members but you were floored. âWE DID IT!!!â They screamed at their fans and Silas thanked you.Â
You turned your gaze to the boys, their helmets were off as they were gasping for air. All equally tired but disappointed when they made eye contact with you. They shook their heads, this will be a long ride home to your dorm.Â
The day afterâŚÂ
You have to do a lot to make it up to the boys. They wonât talk to you, wonât even look at you, or hangout. Itâll be a while before they feel that enough time has passed. For now you just hope the goodies you're making in your kitchen will relieve them for now.
