#college!!!!!!

my cinema class is a giant lecture in a very steeply staired auditorium but it looks so cool!!! the only problem is every monday night we have film screenings which sucks bc i hate being on campus late but it won't be hard bc it's literally just a movie and that's it... we are gonna be watching some cool classics too which i'm excited for. the professor seems very very into it and although the reviews say our only grades r 3 exams how hard can it be?? i think i just have to show up and listen/watch and i'll be fine. who knew tech had cool classes like intro to cinema!!

my violent political change class is gonna be fucking AWESOME altho tons of work... as u can tell by the name, it deals w/ political violence, revolutions, state failures, genocides, and a bunch of other really fascinating stuff!! we r also doing case studies on the arab spring, ukraine, nazi germany, etc.... this is literally the most interesting topic in the world for me. i'm pumped. lots of reading tho... hopefully it's all worth it

my digital planet class i think will be interesting... i've heard good things.. the first class we discussed the Greatest Challenges of the Next 50 Yrs which are all interesting!! one of my professors said something that really stuck w/ me which is since we are fortunate enough to be healthy and given an education we have a responsibility to work towards helping solve these great challenges especially for those who aren't as fortunate as us" which is a really awesome way to look at education i think!! i'm gonna remind myself of this every time i hate school and want to quit and start crying. i need to chill out bc i am so lucky. but ya the class is all about how GIS technologies affect the world around us and this is what i probs will do w/ my life so i have to pay attention. GIS is the future

my maps class sounds boring... i got a bad vibe from the first class partially bc i was uncomfortable w/ the kid who sat next to me but also bc analyzing and measuring maps jus isn't interesting.... we literally have to purchase paper maps and a protractor... what. this is the digital age. altho my professor is so chill our final project is to create a map/itinerary for him to travel from bburg to mexico on his motorcycle bc he wanted a project tht benefits him.. isn't that just cool. he is a cool guy. maybe i'll learn to love analyzing maps

global environmental issues sounds very cool but.. idk... i am not feeling it rn. it's online so it's hard to figure out what to do but the topics on the syllabus sound so cool!! and the class overall seems beneficial!! i haven't quite "dove into" it yet so maybe it'll get better. we shall see.
