#collaborative animation

Thank you all for your patience with me. I've been really unwell lately, and I try to check things off my to-do list when I have the spoons for it. But y'all weren't waiting around just for me to tell a sob-story, so let's get to it!

A couple quick notes I'd like everyone to read before you join:

Right off the bat, I CANNOT PAY YOU. This is about creating as a group, and I unfortunately am not able to pay anyone. If this is a deal-breaker, please move on. I am sorry.

This team is for exchanging ideas and working together. Everyone will have their space to share their creativity, as well as opportunities to help others build their ideas in our Brainstorming channel.

I, personally, will primarily be there to propose and help work on audio; that being said, anyone can suggest audio to animate for.

With all that out of the way:

Collaborative animation with my group members. Worked with @vintagebooks on instagram and twitter. We created an animated trailer for new book called Homebound by @portiaelanwrites on instagram. Shortlisted for top 10 amongst everyone!

This multi-animator project will premiere on the 31st of October, alongside several other MAPs for the Halloween MAPathon!!

Hello Tumblr, you like multi animator projects? You like warriors? You want to join a M.A.P that's beginner friendly? Look no further, for I present to you; TYLER: An Ashfur M.A.P

Stop. Motion.  Separately these words sound contradictory​ but when you put​ them​ together​ it opens up a world of creativity, science and storytelling.​ ​Stop Motion animation is a ​whimsical process that combines a series of images that results in a movie greater then the sum of its parts. For the past two months the Maker Space has been ​ ​providing our visitors the experience to explore many different approaches to​ making animated films.​  Kids​ ​explore​​ the different tools, materials, and processes behind animation​, iterating ideas to creatively express their vision.  For example visitors made Play-Doh-mations, Doodle-mations, and even Sand Animations! ​ ​The experience has been​ ​​AMAZING​ and we are excited to share some of the videos that have been created so far.   The video above is an example of a collaborative experimental animation we created​ ​with over 100 still frames from​​ ​NYSCI Visitors and Staff​.  ​When the drawings are sequenced together our eyes and brain turn these images, each unique and different, into a hyperactive but cohesive moving image.  We had a ton of fun working with families to create narrative short films, exploring ideas of plot, character, and setting.  Some highlights include a love story set right here at NYSCI, a misunderstood friendly tiger, and of course, robots!  Here is a story about a group of friendly insects trying to find their friend Butter around NYC.
