-—❧ Even though he denied it, Jonah didn’t seem like he was living through an adjustment period like many of the servants were. Interestingly enough, between the period of him getting fired as a butler, and then brought back into the establishment as a viscount, he’d become quite the actor. 

Still, even if he was good at pretending, the servants still spoke highly of him... because compared to the previous viscount, he was so much kinder. This kindness was about to be put on display.

He yelped in surprise as he crashes right into Avery, his clothes now soaked in scalding tea. He clenches his jaw for a few moments, holding back the urge to scream and then he addresses the maid.

-—❧ Elias looks up sharply at the sound of a familiar voice, dropping his pen and sitting back. He looks bewildered, like he’s staring directly at a ghost. 

He could not believe the nerve of this person, knocking on the doorway frame of his office, leaning against it and so casually asking him, their attempted murderer, for a recipe. The calmness in their face, the relaxation in their smile. His mind and heart can’t handle it at all.

So he takes the binder out from the drawer in his desk, and flips to a page. He pops open the rings, removes the laminated recipe, and then tosses it on his desk and turns his chair around so that the back was facing Avery.
