4. that is; your body living but your eyes long dead. able to stare beyond the veil into what must never be seen. people becoming nothing less than incessant noise, stripped bare of flesh and bone till they are only festering souls in your sight. 

5. sleep and you’re back in the graveyard, kneeling in the decayed moss. blink and you’re wading through the black sea, choking on sweet molasses sliding thick down your throat. in dreams, pale fingers of salt and ice kiss your lips, trace ancient symbols into your skin. you wake to kohl smudged eyelids and a dark voice calling you home.
