Coldagnir: *Suits up for war with fancy Balrog armor and whips and stuff.*
Vanimórë: Why in the name of Melkor do you have a Hobbit’s door?
Coldagnir:*looks down at the door*
Coldagnir: It’s a shield. Things don’t have to be pretty to be useful.
Vanimórë: Like Tindomión?
Coldagnir: Yes. Exactly like Tindomión.
Elgalad: *Laughs obnoxiously from behind*
Tindomión: *Sighs*
Also Tindomión: how did i become friends with this group of people?
(he totally directed that comment on everything being pretty at vanni. cause vanni likes everything he uses to be pretty)

Aelios (Coldagnir) ‘Becoming’ This is probably what the agents of Sauron briefly glimpsed in Venice as Aelios ‘changed’.

Coldagnir is the Sun God in my AU who decided to go down to Utumno and face Melkor. However, Eru leashed most of his power on the Outside (The Timeless Halls) saying the Sun could not go down into Arda. As a result, Coldagnir was corrupted by Melkor and became a Balrog. He was one of those who killed Fëanor, aided Gothmog in slaying Fingon and was also at the sack of Gondolin.
After the War of Wrath, he fled to the distant Orocarni mountains and was woken thousands of years later. Ultimately he remembered who he was and made an oath to serve the reborn Fëanor.
Vanimöré told him: ‘Fly to the Sun. It is time to return to the days before the universe was spun into Time. Remember the power of it. What thou art.’
Magnificat of the Damned: Book III: Fire.
Chapter 59: Waking Memories.

Coldagnir regained more of his power then, but not all of it, the greater part was still bound by Eru.
In the battle of Angmar in the Fourth Age, Coldagnir confronted Gothmog. The Mouth of Sauron had opened a gate to the Void with blood sacrifice and Gothmog was able to come through, possessing the Mouth and killing him. Coldagnir fought him and was killed but succeeded in absorbing Gothmog’s spirit.
In death, he returned to the Timeless Halls where Gothmogs soul was utterly unmade by Eru.
Coldagnir returned at Dagor Dagorath and is one of the few survivors of the end of the universe (having gone with Vanimöré inside the ‘Monument’ which Eru had designated as a safe ‘holding place’ for the souls of the dead of that last battle).
He journeys to versions of the modern world with Vanimöré and Edenel, where he meets Claire and Maglor.
